[Oh hey look who's working the front desk and only half paying attention to some guy who appears to be talking to him, animatedly, about a topic that apparently involves copious amounts of gesturing to adequately describe.]

[Choutarou huffs at that because seriously, be more polite and call people be their names, Shishido-san. :|] Yagyuu-san?

[OH THANK GOODNESS A DIVERSION. With what appears to be a few polite remarks, Yagyuu disentangles himself from the conversation and heads over at once, keeping one eye on the desk and totally pretending like he's helping visitors. Or something.]

Good afternoon, Shishido-kun, Ootori-kun. [And hello to you, too...table of eggs and relevant parents.] Ah, and one of these must be Tori? I presume the other is yours, Ootori-kun.

Ah, yes. That's Chidori. [and at the mention of her name, the Nidoran curiously looks up at Yagyuu as well. Being the friendly, easygoing sort of Pokémon she is, she simply lifts a stubby leg up in greeting, in a sort of "sup bro" kind of way.]

[How quaint. Yagyuu's not really one to subscribe to the theory that Pokemon end up like their trainers, but it is somewhat comical, the pink one's scrutiny and the blue one's placid acceptance, set next to identical reactions from Shishido and Choutarou.]

Charmed, I'm sure. [Look at this smile. What a nice person he is.] Ah, and I see you've been trying your hand at breeding?

[watching Tori jump down to the floor, Chidori gives the eggs a quick look-over before following him, hopping off the table. rather than approaching Yagyuu immediately, however, she sits a few feet away and just stares curiously.]

[Choutarou just smiles sheepishly] Mmm, we found them on the floor of our room early this morning.

[Luckily, Lady is currently back home at the Tennis Haus today, so Tori's inspection goes unchallenged by any overly possessive members of Yagyuu's roster. Which is probably a good thing, considering Lady.

And speaking of good fortune, it's lucky that Yagyuu has a good poker face, given that mention of how precisely these eggs came into being.]

That must've come as quite a surprise. Though if you're looking to adopt them out, this is a fine place to attempt it; there's never any shortage of eager trainers passing through here, after all.

[Chidori just keeps watching, still curious about the ~stranger~ but not enough to go over to him like Tori is doing. Her nose twitches, obviously waiting to see what Yagyuu was going to do.]

Yes, I hope that they will all find good homes soon.

[and there's an odd sort of pause here, and Choutarou looks slightly hesitant. tentatively-] Would... Yagyuu-san want one?

Ah, hello. [He turns his attention to Tori momentarily, not precisely willing to reach down and attempt to pet an unfamiliar Pokemon covered in poison quills, but certainly prepared to crouch a bit and oblige him with a little notice.] You're the friendly sort, I see. It's a pleasure to meet you, too.

[But then he pauses, glancing up at the sound of the question.]

You mean permanently?

[He doesn't even try to hide a smile because awww, that's adorable.

turning back to the conversation-] Mmm, and the parents might like it better if they know that at least one of their children are entrusted with someone they like. [as he says that, Chidori decides to shed all hesitation and bounds up to Yagyuu, stubby tail wagging excitedly.]

Ah-that is, if Yagyuu-san doesn't mind.

[Well, they do seem friendly enough, and it certainly wouldn't be the first time he'd adopted a Pokemon for the sake of a second-year. Finally surrendering to curiosity with Chidori's approach, he leans down to Nidoran level and lightly extends a hand, still keeping an eye on those quills.]

With rationale like that, I can hardly refuse. If that's acceptable to the two of you?

[He is probably talking to the Nidorans. Probably.]
