[The feed opens to show a very close close-up of Toph's face. Her Sandshrew, Melon Lord, pulls it back a bit, and his claws can be seen for a second or two as he does so. It's nice to have reminders of home.] Pokemon do that when they gain enough experience from battles. Jet did the same thing when he reached level forty.

You can...feel it? And that's just evolution. Don't worry, it's normal. A lot of pokémon go through it, but not all of them.

It's how I see. I'm blind, so I feel the vibrations in the ground to tell where things are.

A friend explained it to me, though I still think it's weird.

Huh, interesting! I've never heard of someone seeing that way. I know someone who sees by smelling and tasting everything...but not be feeling vibrations. How did you learn to do something like that?

It's a little weird, but it's a good thing! Since they usually get stronger when they evolve.

I could always do that. I'm an earthbender. Well, I was before I got stuck here. I can feel ok, but I can't bend anymore.

I guess that would make sense if it were changing sizes from small to big-- was the evolution powerful enough to make vibrations in the ground?

I can feel really small things too, like back home, we had some tiny bugs like ants, and I could feel them. I can also feel people breathe and their heartbeats, so something suddenly changing like that kind of catches my attention.

It's called evolution. It happens to most Pokémon as they level up.

And what do you mean by feeling it with your feet? That sounds really weird...

Well, I can't use my eyes to see. Back home, I was an earthbender, so I could feel vibrations in the ground and tell where things were. I can't earthbend here, but for some reason, I can still feel my way around.
