[The video feed turns on to show the face of a slightly surprised Meowth, who apparently turned it on by accident as it fiddled with its trainer's fallen Gear. One side of the town just has a huge lake and a cave that doesn't seem to go anywhere, and the other side leads to this "Ice Path" place. It sounds pretty dangerous.

Maybe. I mean, I bailed out of there pretty quickly because I realized the Pokémon in there were way stronger than mine. I did notice this huge waterfall that seemed to branch out somewhere else at the top, but there's no way you could get up there. You can't even say for sure if it leads to an exit or not.
