Fuji Shuusuke semi-conned Suzaku into taking the egg that ultimately hatched into Suzaku's favorite Pokemon. He was reluctant to take it at first, thinking that he wouldn't be fit to raise something that was entrusted to him that way, but it ended up working out quite well. Unlike the Skitty she was bred from, she's the sweetest and most gentle ball of pink fluff, which of course stirred fluffy feelings of remembrance in him, prompting him to name her after his princess, Euphemia. In spite of that, though, he often feels a little awkward referring to her by name, especially in front of others (bonus points if they were familiar with the human Euphie).
Euphie doesn't fight--partly because she doesn't want to, and partly because Suzaku doesn't let her. She's too precious for him to allow harm to come to; in fact, his loving feelings toward his Skitty extend so far that he won't even keep her inside a Pokeball unless absolutely necessary. She rides on his shoulder, sleeps in the crook of his arm, and eats at the table with him. Think of her as Suzaku's version of Ash's Pikachu.
