Well, Miles-san was saying he was training to become one, so I didn't know if there was more to it than that.

He stole Mitsuru-san's PokeGear on the way to Goldenrod.

It is a logical step. You might be able to purchaser breeder manuals at the department store. If not, Penthesilea and Aki produced an egg while I wasn't watching them one day...
