[ He was watching from the stands with Remus and Romulus and the others with their red and blue and all the other colored flags where did you guys even get these and in general rooting for Ken like the good best friend he is. He doesn't do any cheering himself, but whilst making sure neither baby Cubone falls off from the stands, having Cara and the squirtle bounce on his lap with each of Ken's victories - Pess is waiting outside because ffff tiny cramped space? euck.

He follows this congregation down from the stands to congratulate Ken, but he's watching Whitney. He heard her reaction to every trainer he's seen challenge and defeat her, including a certain assassin earlier that day. So he's waiting... waiting... and when she wails?

He can't help but be a little amused at Ken's face, but he'll go trotting up to Ken's side to assist him like a good best friend. ;; ]

[ oh boy. she knows she's in for a good showing from ken the moment she sees that determined (if annoyed) look on his face. her eyes stay glued on the pokegear throughout the entire broadcast, watching the battle--and mentally taking notes on if and how these gym battles are different than normal trainer battles, because they definitely seem more difficult.

at the end of the gym battle, she's grinning to herself, proud of her teammate that he could pull this off and take home a badge. however, that expression melts away when the sobbing commences. ]
