The sources state his name as "Ruka", but his name was originally Luca in the manga, so I'm going with that.
Personality:
Luca is a warm person who loves animals and is kind to other people. His smile is always genuine and warm and he offers his help to those who need it.
However, this is not always what he appears to be. Sometimes he hides his true feelings behind a mask and appears to be serious and cool, unapproachable. This is because he doesn’t want to be happy and smile when his best friend, Natsume, is suffering; he doesn’t want to be in the light when Natsume’s surrounded by darkness. This is also partly because he feels guilty about not being able to help when his friend is put through hell.
When someone says bad things about Natsume or his other friends, Luca will show his teeth. He doesn’t stand people talking about others behind their backs - especially if they don’t know what’s really going on. So he stands up and tells them to shut up and not talk about things they just can’t ever understand. He’s a very loyal friend and would defend them if he’s able to and whatever the situation is. In fact, he’s even shown to do something he would normally never want to do to help his friends (for example: using animals to attack someone, which is something he would never want to do).
Luca’s mask can easily be broken by embarrassing him. He’s really shy, so when he’s the target of teasing he will show his emotions very clearly by blushing endlessly, flailing or yelling them to stop (sometimes even combining some or all of these options). He’s easy to blackmail into things if the threat is embarrassment in publicity as he wants to keep his cool mask on. He's also embarrassed by his Alice, which is why he doesn't want other people finding out about it (even if he's started to feel more comfortable about it after he was told that it's a gentle Alice that can be used to help others).
Even if Luca is only ten-years-old, he sometimes appears very mature and understanding about other people’s feelings - especially Natsume’s. He often realizes hidden feelings behind the boys’ actions and words. He’s also able to place himself into someone else’ situation and think about how they feel. He’s very emotional and will cry if he’s given a reason to.

+ Determined: he wants to and will help his best friend through anything.
+ Loyal: he would do anything for his friends and follow them through everything.
+ Understanding: he understands others’ feelings quite well even if he’s young.
+ Knowledge on animals: his special ability back home was the Animal pheromone, which meant he was able to connect with animals easily. Through that he’s gained a lot of knowledge about animals which he can use for his advantage.

- Shy: he gets easily embarrassed.
- Naive: he's still only a child who doesn't know much about the world.
- Emotional: he gets easily emotional about things and lets his feelings take over.
- Dependant: he’s really dependant on his best friend, Natsume. He’s pretty much lost without him around.

Hello, everyone. It would seem that we’re in quite a situation here…
[He moves the camera a little to show quite a few eggs lying on the bed. He moves the camera back to himself.]
We can’t keep all of them, so I want to find them good homes. I’m willing to give the Charmander eggs for free, but you have to consult Natsume about the Skitty eggs. I can deliver messages for him.
[As Natsume isn’t the most social person there is, after all.]
Thank you for your time.
[And with that the feed cuts off.]
Third Person Sample:
Normally Luca stayed on the road so he wouldn’t get lost. There were however times when he needed to change directions and go to the more unknown paths. This time the reason was hearing a fearful cry. A Pokémon seemed to be in danger and he couldn’t just leave it be, so he had just begun running towards the direction of the sound.
When he got to the scene there was a small Sentret crying. It seemed to be hurt and in distress. Luca carefully let his Charmander down and approached the little Pokémon carefully. At times like these Luca really misses his Alice. With it, it would have been easy to win the little Sentret over. Now he just needed to be calm and patient so he wouldn’t scare the little thing.
“It’s okay. I’m here to help…”
The Sentret looked at Luca. Then it noticed the Charmander and looked at it, who nodded at the wild Pokémon as an encouragement, to assure that Luca was a nice person. With that the Sentret let Luca pick him up carefully. The boy examined the Pokémon calmly and then took a potion out of his pocket.
“This will sting a little bit”, he warned and then sprayed the bottle. The Sentret cried a little again, but then blinked and seemed to feel a little better. “There. Though we still need to get you to a Pokémon Center as soon as possible... if you let me take you there.”
Sentret stared at Luca for a little while, but then it nodded and curled a little closer to the boy. Luca smiled slightly and looked at the Charmander. “Let’s go back, Natsume. You’ll need to walk for a little while before I get a Pokéball for him though.”
Charmander nodded understandingly and then started to lead the way back to their traveling group.
