2nd Plot [Action Log]

Sep 13, 2010 19:50

[Artemis can be seen walking at a brisk pace with Savyna back to New Bark. He and Savyna departed quite late yesterday and so the treck back is not overly long.]

I must say, you did agree without much persuasion.

And leave a child alone in a strange new place?

[a raised eyebrow]

I was already considering going back myself.

I apologize for doubting you then.

[Doing his best to keep up with Savyna without looking like he's struggling.]

I'm surprised you were thinking the same.

[Idly, she wonders how many people in a hundred would turn around like this to help a complete stranger. She's not really taking notice of how Artemis is falling behind, due in part to the fact that she's very tall, and thus has long legs, and also in part to the fact that she's rarely had to travel with anyone less than a seasoned traveler.]

She seemed in need of aid and it's really of no major inconvenience to help her. I'm not a heartless person.

[Artemis lets her pull away without a word. After all, their destination is the same so he'll catch up eventually.]

Some people would call half a day's travel a major inconvenience.

[With that, New Bark Town comes into view at the edge of the forest, and her brisk pace increases a litle. With each step, the buildinds become clearer, as do the figures of the people walking around them.]

[There's a small, golden-haired one. Was that the girl they were looking for?]

[ At the sight of someone approaching, the small, golden-haired one lifts her gaze fully from the Growlithe sitting at her feet. The puppy moves to let her take a few cautious steps forward, and Kisa stops after that, painful uncertainty practically radiating from her. ]

[Artemis appears behind Savyna not too long afterwards. Spotting Kisa he attempts to put on a friendly smiling face, it ends up looking a bit odd as it's not something he's used to doing but to his credit he at least tries.

He approaches Kisa but leaves a few feet between the two of them, crouching down to her eye level. He's not overly versed in interaction with children but the arrival of his new brothers back home sparked him to read more on the subject, now to put the theory to the test.]

Hello, Kisa. I'm Artemis. We spoke not long ago. This is Ms Savyna, I spoke of her, remember?

[Savyna looks a little surprised as Artemis stoops down. He hadn't struck her as the type to like kids, but she'd just been proved wrong. She doesn't bend down, but her stiff posture softens a little, and her voice loses the hard edge.]

The two of us were sent by your cousin to make sure you get to him safely.

What's your name?

[ Kisa looks from Artemis to Savyna, eyes wide and body tense-- almost like a frightened animal. She shifts from foot to foot, giving the Growlithe a glance as it nudges her leg, and then looks back at Artemis with a nod. She remembers.

... At Savyna's question, though, she lowers her head. Talking via text is easier, but face-to-face, it just seems ridiculous and rude. She can't say a word, though. ]

[Artemis replies for her.] It's Kisa, though I'm not aware of her last name.

[He pulls himself upright again to talk to Savyna.] It seems, for her own reasons, she cannot speak.

[Turns back to Kisa.] Perhaps you would like to continue sending us messages?

Mute, hmm?

[She's silent for a moment.]

Using that device does make more sense than writing by hand.

[ Kisa watches both of them, then pulls out her PokéGear and slowly but steadily begins typing something out. She holds it up a minute later. ]

It's Sohma.

Thank you for helping me.

You're most welcome.

[He takes a moment to glance over her Pokémon and realizes his own still hasn't caught up with them, pulling a look of irritation as he turns to look behind him. Sure enough, his Eevee comes meandering out at it's own pace.]

[She nods in response to the text screen. Savyna's own female Nidoran is residing inside the Pokeball, her trainer having deemed the quick pace of the walk a little much for short legs. A look of amusement crosses her face at the fact that the Eevee was in no hurry to catch up. When she speaks, her voice isn't unkind, simply blunt and factual.]

We should get moving. It's supposed to be a four-day trip, at best.

[ There's an obedient nod on her end-- and then she spots the little fluffy brown thing making its slow, sedate way forward, and she perks up. Leaving the Growlithe to sniff at both of these new human arrivals, Kisa just as slowly approaches the Eevee and crouches down a moderate distance away to offer it a hand. She's fine with animals. Animals never laughed or mocked. ]

[Artemis isn't overly pleased at the idea of the bulky dog approaching him but he allows the Growlithe to continue, keeping an eye on Kisa's attempts to interact with Eevee.]

Her name is Diana.

[The Eevee steps forward and gives Kisa's hand a quick sniff. A warm tongue brushes her palm before it returns doing its own thing.]
