BACKGROUND: Hinata grew up in a rich Japanese family. Her father was head of a big corporation that traded with the United States and thanks to his wealth, Hinata's mother could stay at home. For the first 6 years of her life, things were wonderful. Her mother had a baby sister when Hinata was 5 years old and took delight in helping her mother care for her. Her mother read her fairytales and even some children's manga. But at around 6, her mother started to get sick. She went to the hospital for great lengths of time and one day she just never came back. After a few months, Hinata's father took up a post on the other side of the Pacific, and for better or worse, Hinata, her little sister Hanabi, and their nannies followed.

Hinata didn't do well in the United States. The food was different, the children were different, and most of all, she missed her mother. But she tried her best to make friends and do well in school, and for the most part, she thought she had succeeded. She had a few close friends at school. But her grades, even as a child, were never good enough and she was subjected to long hours with a tutor. Hanabi, by comparison, got the best of life. She did well in school without effort. She joined sports teams and gathered a clique around her almost immediately. Hinata just tried harder, falling into silence around anyone but her family and the few people who still spoke to her at school.

At fifteen years old, Hinata was a shadow of her former happy-go-lucky self. Stifled by books, homework, and the heavy hand of parental expectations, she was shy and mostly silent, but when she had to speak, she stuttered. At school, she was starting to become the target of bullies. She had to explain bruises and little injuries to her caretakers almost everyday, and they tutted over them but did nothing. So Hinata did nothing herself. One day, a particularly fierce one pulled back their arm to hit her from behind and she moved out of the way. She could see his confused face before she even turned around, but when she did, one of them started screaming and running away. Another cried 'Mutant, it's a filthy mutant'. Hinata just looked in a mirror and saw her brilliant black eyes were now stark white. She backed away from her bullies and ran all the way home.

Once she was there, her father didn't explain what was wrong with her. He did nothing besides look at her, shake his head in disgust and leave. She heard him making a phone call and things being packed upstairs. She was being sent away. Over something she couldn't even control. She didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to her sister or her friends before the car came around and shuttled her off to Xavier's Institute.
PERSONALITY: Hinata is first and foremost shy. She doesn't like to stand out, which makes the effect of her mutant power that much more unwelcome. She tries her hardest to be positive, and experience has more to do with her slight pessimism than personality does. She hates lying and so she says silent rather than do so. She can't stand hurting people, even those who are hurting her. She really likes fairytales and myths because of her mother and she has a rich imagination.

Thanks to her loneliness, she has a real hunger for friends and companions, and despite her father's less than noble intents in sending her to XI, it will probably be just the thing she needs. She'll have a hard time with talking to people unless they talk to her first. She'll do very well in her classes though. Thanks to her tutors, she's probably a year or two ahead of normal classes.

APPEARANCE: Hinata for the most part seems like a typical Japanese girl. She's on the thin side with short black hair. However, she has one very notable feature thanks to her mutation. At about 15 years old, her eyes lightened to pure white and have stayed that way regardless of whether she using her power or not.

She's small and slight for her age, a little on the skinny side but I full expect her to grow into herself here. Besides that chest in canon never really made much sense on her anyways 8D....ne?
POWERS:BYAKUGAN Hinata can see 360 degrees around her body through any obstacles for about 2 meters. When she concentrates on her power to extend her range, the muscles around her eyes tense.

ANYTHING ELSE?: OH!...no. not really.

- RP SAMPLES
First-person sample:
I'm not really sure where I am. My dad just sent me here, but everyone has been nice so far. A school for mutants...I don't know what do here. ...I don't know if I'm going home after this or not either.

I hope I can learn much from being here. Thank you for taking me in.

Third-person sample: Hinata stepped out of the car uncertainly, catching a glimpse of her eyes in the mirror and shuddering. Those eyes...they were so creepy. She stepped onto the grounds, trailed by the servant carrying her things, and glanced around. So...this was her home for now. One of the servants she'd grown closer to had explained where she was going, if not why, and Hinata wondered if her father expected her to excel just as highly here. Or did he care about his mutant daughter anymore? The failure. The disappointment. She ducked her head and wished she didn't have to see them all around her. It felt like everyone was watching her.

"Welcome to Xavier's Institute. This way to your dorm." The woman led Hinata through the halls to the dorms and Hinata looked around curiously, passing the other students. She saw something move outside. Was that a- She stopped to get a better view. There, to the back and left, a DRAGON. She gasped and went to the nearest window. It was! She smiled slightly. Maybe this power wouldn't be so bad.
