I know the maps are pretty crappy, but they aren't that bad. If you were heading to Cherrygrove from New Bark Town, all you had to do was keep heading west.

What dumbass told you that? Head down back south until you meet the road that goes back to New Bark Town and turn west. You'll eventually run into it.

The only way out of New Bark town is the road going west. The only way you could have gone north is if you turned north.

You can try to eat some of the wild plants. I'm pretty sure some of them are safe for humans. A lot of the berries you'll find won't kill you, but they'll make you sick, so be careful.

The problem here is that the only fish around are other Pokemon. I've learned to make traps myself, but so far I've never seen Pokemon on the menu. There aren't any normal animals here.
