[Oh, hey there, Johto. Hope none of you out there get motion sickness, because today's broadcast starts out a little...haphazard, courtesy of a pair of clawed purple hands unearthing the Pokegear from the depths of a backpack and shaking it around a little in the process of turning it on. But eventually the Gear comes to rest on the floor, propped ( Read more... )

trying to catch me writing nerdy, somehow this is all niou's fault, the gentleman is not amused, teammates whaaaar, ▶ goldenrod city, super swank tennis clubhouse, brb screaming like a little girl, denial: not just a river in egypt, phantom-cam, like canon but with pokemon, my pokeymans let me show you them, always glorious always victorious, someone call the ghostbusters, the perils of dramatic irony, let's get philosophical, i am fifteen and what is this, purple = do not want, there's an ulterior motive actually, is afraid of ghosts actually, quite obviously up to something

[Still serving out his two weeks, Yukimura can't rush in to find out what the ruckus is - but he can at least contact Yagyuu when he sees the video on his Gear.]

Yagyuu? Are you all right?

[Well, here is a transmission he's of somewhat mixed feelings about. On one hand, the last person he really wants to look like an idiot in front of is Yukimura. On the other hand...with Niou gone, Yukimura is probably the most comforting presence he's got in Johto at the moment.

Even from behind bars.]

I'm fine, Yukimura-kun. It seems Niou-kun had a talent for picking Pokemon that take after him, that's all.

[It isn't as if Yukimura hasn't seen him - all of them - look like idiots before. Generally he kindly pretends it didn't happen and lets them have their dignity, unless they've really screwed something up. Or he thinks it's funny. In this case, though - he's just concerned, after all that's happened.]

He certainly did. They always seemed to be getting into some sort of trouble together... I'm glad that one found you, though.

The more I consider it, the more I find I can't decide if I think he really meant for me to have him, or if that one simply decided to stay of his own volition.

[Not that he would ever dream of trying to get rid of him, considering it's not just one of Niou's former roster, but the one named after him.]

Though either way, the result is the same. And outside of the occasional trick, the house has been mostly quiet in your absence. Have they been treating you well?

Does it matter? He's with you now, and I'm sure Niou would rather have you take care of him than anyone else.

[Truthfully, Yukimura will be a little disappointed if he doesn't find one of Niou's Pokemon waiting upon his departure from jail.]

They're treating me perfectly well. I imagine it helps that I've been polite to them - there's no reason to make this all difficult, after all.

In the grand scheme of things? No. It's mostly a question of poetry, if anything. Regardless, he and Sudoku get along well enough, so there's no conflict there.

[Though it's pretty clear which one he likes better, of the two.]

I would imagine so. There's no advantage to being uncooperative, after all, so long as they're not treating you poorly.

I wonder how it is, when people leave. I wonder if they do get a chance to decide these things.

[Or perhaps it's something that ought to be decided in advance. Yukimura will have to think about this.]

Yes. I should be out soon enough, after all, and I'd like to avoid any further trouble for now.

If he'd decided in advance on leaving me Sudoku, I never heard about it. Though perhaps in that case, it didn't need to be said in the first place.

Is there anything I can bring you? Or, failing that, to see to on your behalf?

Sanada said he would take care of my plants, so beyond that there isn't much. Make sure you're keeping up with your training, of course - I'll be disappointed if I get out only to find you've all been slacking off.

Of course. Even in the inclement weather, there's still plenty that can be done to keep in good condition.

Perhaps we could play a match when I get back.

[For Yukimura, tennis is, of course, the best stress reliever.]

[It gets a slight smile out of him, at least. Tennis is still a vaguely painful prospect, it's true, but...well, tennis is tennis. And playing a match with his captain would be refreshingly familiar.]

I'd like that.
