[ Passerby browsing through the Goldenrod Department Store late this afternoon might happen across Yagyuu and his Espeon, Lady, perusing the aisles with a leisurely air. But I thought the recipient's enjoyment was the only factor to take into consideration? Regardless of the hideousness of the gift.

Well, yes, but you have to have at least a nod in the direction of aesthetics, or your teammate will have hideous socks and it'll be your fault.

The tennis balls wouldn't stand out on yellow, in any case. Yellow socks would have to have bees on them instead.

That might be a bit much, even for a birthday gift. I don't know that I could suffer the acquaintance of a teammate whose ankles were covered in bees.
