[Today, you're getting a video courtesy of Kana-cam.The youngest of the Cleffamigos noticed Kanji being upset, and after seeing Yosuke is bothered too, she thinks showing him a video would make Kanji feel less sad. Her little crush on Kanji seems to know absolutely no bounds, huh

[He'd already known, but it still hasn't quite sunk in just yet. Even after his talk with Kanji. So, when Merlin gets the text, he simply seeks Yosuke out, standing there quietly for a second.]

[By this point, he's migrated back to his bed, listlessly laying on top of the bed. It's pretty numb at this point. He doesn't actually sit up when he hears Merlin's voice; he half expected this. His eyes are focused on the ceiling, tracing the subtle signs of wear in it.]

Yo.

[There's no point to asking "are you all right?" He knows better than that. So he settles on the floor, leaning back against Yosuke's bed. A long time passes before he finally starts talking.]

Hard to believe, isn't it? One moment they're here, the next they're not. Still can't get used to it after all this time.

[There's a sense of normalcy to this, Yosuke thinks. Merlin always seems to take that same spot when things get like this. The air is heavy, and even though it's not the best conversation, the tension feels a bit broken when he finally speaks.]

It doesn't. And it seems like... it's always the same people who go missing. This... this is the third time I've seen Yukiko leave since I've been here.

I don't think this is something anyone's meant to get used to.

They'll come back. [He sounds more certain of this than he should be, considering he has no power over who goes and who stays. That gives him an idea, though.]

...hey, Yosuke? Do you think it's possible we ever find out what or who is bringing us all here?

[He freezes at that, taking a minute to consider it. Would they? And if they did... what would they do about it? The idea always seems to far away, one they all talk about pursuing, but not one they ever take the steps to do a thing about it. After that, he sighs.]

Dunno. I want to, though. But I don't think anyone really knows where to start...

The only clue we've really had is...Team Rocket. [And even Merlin's given up on that idea for the most part.]

Before they went quiet, they were involved in all sorts of things in Johto. It's not much to go on, but it's somewhere to start.

It's kind of hard not to think that they'd have something to do with it. I mean, they seem like they're the only ones with access to that kind of stuff.

Not the members. They're just as clueless as we are when they arrive here. No... [Merlin draws the word out slowly.] It has to be their leader and the second in command doing this.

If it is them, I mean. We've still got no proof.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I mean, I know the grunts wouldn't or anything. But the higher ups... maybe not just the leader or whatever, you know? Team Rocket's a pretty big organization. [He pauses.] We may not have proof, but what else could it be, seriously?

The PokéGods?

[Absolute silence on his end. And then, curiously: ]

Are there pokemon gods? I've heard some things about the "legendary" ones--like that silver flying one we saw when the water pokemon stopped listening to us.

[Shrugging.] Dunno, man. I was just being facetious about, hahaha...

[tiercelet]

[considers it some more, then puts it into the "maybe" box for the time being.]

Well, it'd take too much power for one pokemon to do it alone. So, maybe not pokemon gods.

Unless there was more than one. Isn't there a lot of things that have like different gods for different things?
