OOC: Headcanon
General
• He grew up in the suburbs of Tokyo until the family relocated to Inaba.
• As a kid, his favorite thing to do was hang upside-down on the monkey bars at the playground.
• He met Souji once before - when he was seven. It was at a playground, where they played. Until Yosuke fell off the monkey bars and got hurt -- and was subsequently taken away by his mom. He never got Souji's name, nor did he see him again. (Shared headcanon with Killi's Souji/checkthefridge; malleable to other interpretations)
• Has broken his left arm once (age 7), his right pinky (age 10), and his right foot (age 14).
• He also sliced his thumb open peeling an apple when he was 15.
• He often stays up late, browing the internet. Usually either 2ch or looking at porn.
• Keeps his porn in the bottom drawer of his desk, under old homework assignments.
• He sleeps in boxers (and a t-shirt if it's cold). Despite this, he usually wears boxer-briefs.
• He prefers rock music, and will generally list bands like Aqua Timez and Flow as he current favorites. However, lurking deep in his iPod's depths are groups like Arashi, Tackey & Tsubasa, and SMAP.
• He has a weakness (and huge crush on) for Yuna Itou.
• Yosuke also like a lot of Western music, specifically pop/rock from the 70s/80s. Specifically Queen and Duran Duran. Though you'll also find odd things like ABBA sometimes. In terms of contemporary music, he enjoys Coldplay, Incubus, Blink 182, Green Day and Taking Back Sunday... as well as a whole lot of other stuff.
• He'll never admit this to anyone ever, but he likes to watch JDramas with his mom sometimes.
• He's not in any sports clubs because he's too clumsy and prone to injury. Also, because he really don't care much about sports at all.
• Actions flicks are his favorite genre of movie. Slapstick comedy is a close second.
• Favorite drinks include TaP Soda, Yuzu Ramune, and Pocari Sweat.
• Azuki-filled green tea mochi is his favorite snack.
• His English is terrible. He can't grasp it even a little. The extent of what he really understands are frequently used in pop culture, and things from songs he knows.
• Kids. Yosuke really, really likes kids. He's not the best with them, especially if they're exceptionally bratty. But he still likes to be around them and play with them if the opportunity arises.
• Even though he used to really resent being Inaba, his friends have made him love living there. Yosuke's now torn between leaving to go back to Tokyo after graduation, and staying to be near his friends.
• It's another thing he'd never admit - but one of the things that worries him most is Souji not coming back. He worries that he'll move to the next location, make new friends - and forget about the things that happened to them in Inaba. He knows that it's completely irrational and talks to him frequently, but it still lingers in the back of his mind constantly.
• Every rainy night, he still looks at the TV to see if the Midnight Channel will appear the way it used to.
• He still has nightmares about Saki - usually one every few weeks. It varies from a replaying of what he saw on the Midnight Channel to direct encounters in which she says terrible things to him. They nearly always wake him up from his dead sleep, and usually he doesn't fall asleep again for the rest of the night. It makes him extremely anxious, sometimes to the point where he calls Souji in the middle of the night just hear something rational directly.
• He has no plans to go to University, he doesn't have any faith he'd be accepted to any school. He doesn't really want to work at Junes forever either, but he's somewhat resigned to it if all else fails.
• Sometimes after he gets out of work, he'll bring by snacks and other goodies from Junes to Nanako, just because he can.
• Yosuke's not as fail with girls as he seems to be. He's kissed a couple of girls - however they were all back in the city. He's much less successful with the small-town girls, though. They're a completely different world away, as far as he's concerned.
• He makes it a tradition to watch Kouhaku Uta Gassen every New Years!
• He's extremely ticklish, but only at his sides and the bottoms of his feet.
• Yosuke is learning to play guitar. He's only at an intermediate skill level, but despite his normal clumsiness, it's something he's pretty good at.
• Words cannot explain his crush on Rise. They just. Can't.
Souji / Romantic nonsense / sexual nonsense
• He is not gay. Of course, this is something he would say anyway -- but his feelings for Souji are still something special, regardless. He views Souji as the the first person who truly accepted him for who he was. There was never any judgment, despite the shadow, his jealousy, or anything else. He has a hard time viewing Souji on the same level as other people because of this. He respects Souji more than anyone else. He's just gay for Souji. Not just anyone.
• Because of this, couple with his insecurities, Souji is the only male partner he would ever even consider. Otherwise, you can't tear Yosuke from his desire to touch boobies.
• When it comes to sex, Yosuke is really not into taking it up the ass. Granted, he tops nothing ever, but he feels like a weaker person when he does that. It makes him squirm and kind of squicks him - he finds it uncomfortable all the time - though with some convincing, he can be talked into it. Sometimes. Not often. He'd much prefer to do other acts instead.
