Wikia here. Personality: Perhaps the largest part of who Chitose is as a character is just how whimsical he is. He doesn't especially like to be tied town to one place for an extended period of time and often is the type to wander wherever catches his fancy, or even without thought just wherever his feet take him. Not even most responsibilities can keep him in one place for longer than he'd like to be there, except perhaps the more important things to him and to others. More often than not he will find himself on a train to somewhere picked at random, or walking while lost in his thoughts.
Speaking of his thoughts, while many and varied they may be, most often Chitose is the type to think on deeper or more challenging subjects. Whether on theories behind Muga, the doors therein, or even something as normal as shogi problems. He is a very intelligent person, evidenced clearly by his thoughts, hobbies, even the door beyond Muga which he was able to step through.
But even beyond those aspects of his intelligence, Chitose has shown something a bit more practical. His ability to observe situations--observe people and accurately judge who holds a greater challenge to overcome. He is perceptive enough to take in the necessary information, and still smart enough to understand just what it means for himself and others possibly affected by the information he's managed to get his hands on. In that same vein, he knows who will need, and potentially benefit from what he's come to find out, and will be the first to approach someone with this information.
Chitose is also quite the kind sort of person, always seeming relaxed and friendly even to those he's never actually met in person before. He isn't the type of person to react badly to the more harsh comments, nor the type to respond with anything hurtful in those cases. He's in this life for the enjoyment of every moment of it, and as such there is no reason to put good feelings to waste by retaliating or letting things get to him too deeply. That is of course not to say he doesn't have his moments of being frustrated or annoyed, they're simply incredibly infrequent and short-lived. This also doesn't mean he doesn't regret things or feel guilty. He will however apologize in any such situation, not being the type to want someone to hurt because of something he may have had a part in.
Another trait he possesses is actually a certain level of generosity. It's never an especially large or overly-important display with him, and instead something much smaller, and maybe more frequently. Simple things such as feeding stray cats as often as he's able to, or treating friends to food after practice. Still like all humans he is capable of being a little selfish as well, though in his case it isn't in an especially hurtful way. Just simple things like sleeping through morning tennis practice, or skipping classes to nap on the back hills of the campus.
But even sleeping through one of the two practices a day isn't enough to remove Chitose from his spot as a regular. His skill makes it possible to stay in his position, and because of his skill he can actually be quite the confident sort of person. He believes in himself and that he can win, and he has the skill to back himself up. When appropriate, he isn't even against being a little vocal with his confidence. And more than just in himself, his confidence extends to his team, his friends, people who deserve it. He has confidence in the abilities of the people around him, and he isn't afraid to show it when the moment arises.
Strengths:
O - Can use Muga no Kyouchi, in which he is able to take in and copy any technique he sees. Canonly applied in tennis, there is a possibility it can be used in other physical activities.
O - Because Chitose is a generally chill person, he is able to remain calm in just about any situation, even when his surefire ability begins to fall apart on him.
O - Through use of Saikikanpatsu no Kiwami, Chitose is capable of forcing his brain to work at a far higher level than a normal person, to the point that within seconds he can often accurately predict what will happen, even to the point he can tell how many times the ball will be rallied before he wins the point.
O - Chitose is actually quite good at playing Shogi, and is shown at one point in a Shogi assembly hall only 21 moves away from a win.
O - Partly coming from being in a sport, Chitose is a rather strong person, but even beyond just that the geta he wears are evidence enough. Being steel and weighing about 6kg each he goes for casual walks in them, not tiring from their weight.
Weaknesses:
X - Due to being struck in his right eye with a tennis ball near a year ago, the sight in Chitose's right eye is actually quite bad. Despite recovery time, he never regained full visual acuity in that eye.
X - On the downside of Muga no Kyouchi, this ability comes from the body and not the brain, and as a result can and will physically exhaust the user much more rapidly than normal.
X - Chitose subconsciously placed a limit upon himself, in a way to avoid going beyond what he is physically capable of, and as such limited the growth and expansion of his abilities.
X - Chitose's tendency to wander off on a whim may not sound like much of a weakness, but when it's lowered his school attendance percentage to 49.8%, putting him on the edge of having to repeat his third year in middle school, it is very evidently a weakness.

Samples
First Person Sample: Ah... it looks like I made a little mistake.
[Is the first thing the feed supplies as the screen comes into focus on a boyish face and mussed up hair. With an expression somewhat like a child who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar he continues.]
I thought that Dark Cave let out somewhere closer to New Bark when I went in there. I think I took a wrong turn somewhere inside.
[At this point the camera turns, showing trees--buildings, and then a sign. It takes a few seconds for the words to come into focus.]
I was considering going back to Cherrygrove, but I think that might be a problem for me, from here. Does anyone know about another way to get back there?
[The sign reads: "Welcome to Blackthorn City". The words remain clear on the screen a couple seconds more before the feed goes dark.]
Third Person Sample: It was with a breathed sigh of relief, and maybe a slight stab of pain just behind his eyes, that Chitose emerged from his two weeks of travel inside of Dark Cave. For the short distance he had intended to go, he really had never expected to be in there that long, nor did he expect the Pokemon, initially weak, to suddenly become far too strong to handle. Especially considering the low levels of his Meowth and the Pidgey that he eventually caught back before this little cave adventure.
Speaking of adventure though, his wasn't exactly over yet, and for the first time in as long as he could remember he was quite ready for it to end. But the question of 'where am I?' remained, and as long as it was there he knew the adventure wouldn't be over just yet.
"Maybe the nearest town isn't far." it was just a murmur as he reached a hand into a bag that almost seemed far too worn to be new, but with nobody else around it felt almost too loud. At least he had left the echo of the cave far enough behind him.
A casual toss of a ball--a brilliant flash of light, too bright for eyes long used to the dark--brought out a healthy, if tired Pidgey, fluttering just above his tall trainer's head.
"Sorry to interrupt your rest Kippei, but do you think you could see if you can spot the next town from up there?" his voice was steadily growing tired as he spoke, but still his eyes never wavered from the Pidgey above his head.
Kippei looked worried--it really was familiar, brought back thoughts of his namesake--but complied with the request, flying swiftly higher into the sky for a look.
A whir of a call from above came almost immediately as Kippei drifted northeast a short distance, with a turn to look at his trainer. Chitose couldn't help but to smile. Town had to be close, Kippei was only just above what obstructed Chitose's clear view in any direction. So Northeast then? He could manage a little bit more walking.
"Let's hurry to town, then." smiling as he spoke, he took a step, two--before Kippei flew back to him, settled comfortably on the top of his head. He received a laugh for the travel decision.
"I think I can carry you this time."
