[Touya's Drifloon seems to be holding the Pokegear again, as the shinobi himself is occupied holding an egg in his arms. Again he's got nothing warmer than his usual outfit and a scarf, stubborn as he seems to be.]We lost at the Ecruteak gym. [The reply came about twenty minutes later, video turning on to show a scratched-up Touya in the Pokemon Center wrapping bandages around his arm.]

I don't need a weapon, thanks. And this was merely an unexpected miscalculation, nothing more.

A fire-type, apparently called a Vulpix. I assume either I was in its territory or it was upset due to the bad weather.

how high was the vulpixs level?

I haven't checked--frankly, I can't believe I was foolish enough to bother catching it.

you caught it?
i just arrived actually so i havent caught anything yet

[And then the feed changes, suddenly turning into video to show a teenaged boy in shades and some winter clothing sitting in a pokecenter. The charmander next to him is leaning against his shoulder, taking a nap, the pair of sunglasses on it's nose a bit skewed.]

The vulpix seemed pretty strong and you were able to catch it? What kind of leveled pokemon do you have?

Mine are all above level 45--and it's not that the Vulpix was particularly strong, it merely caught me by surprise.

[A long whistle.]

Wow, that's pretty high. What route where you on when it got you?

[And then a pause.]

... Sorry for all the questions, I just want to know for my own record.

Route 37, just outside Ecruteak. Judging by the others I've seen nearby, I would estimate it to be roughly around twenty or a bit lower.

Don't worry about it. I've been asked stranger questions here.

[He nods.]

So the farther you get, the higher the levels become. Just like--

[A pause and he grins.]

Guess I need to get grinding.

Ah-- Just certain games back home, it reminds me of the place.

[He wasn't sure if everyone knew they were sucked into a video game so hey, might as well keep it on the down low.]

And grinding is a term for leveling up back home.

Oh, that again--I've been told this is reminiscent of some kind of game, though I wouldn't really know.

Didn't think so. Seems like games like these are only in certain places.
