"I'm sorry. I... I can't do this. You're a really pretty lady! But-"
The woman presses a kind hand to Naruto's mouth and smiles as softly as she can manage. They'd been together for hours now, simply talking and getting to know one another. He spoke of worlds she knew nothing about and never would. Not when trapped in this velvet red Hell. While the price was right he could do whatever he wished with her and yet never once had he laid a hand on her.
She had assumed at some point that it was because he expected her to make the first move. And so she did with a clever flip of her hands that left his yukata wide open and his eyes even wider.
There was a pause where Naruto's body seemed to have decided what it wanted with or without his consent. Those fingers felt so good around him and that beautiful mouth was doing wonders to his neck. But in the end his common sense won and his much stronger hands were able to push the courtesan back. She landed with a soft noise as the fabric of her kimono padded her fall.
This strange, blond man with his quick words and wild hand gestures... His apologies like she was actually worth them... They warmed her heart. They made her chuckle, her head bowed to hide the noise as best as she could.
When she looked back up Naruto was already in front of her, reaching to fix her pretty gown and muttering sorry over and over and over... Like he had just done the most horrible thing. There was an honesty in those rare blue eyes that she had never seen before. Sincerity and fear. It was such a delicate thing that she didn't quite know how to handle the situation. Awkward filled the air rather quickly and really, when such a cute situation is thrown at a person there's honestly no right way to handle it.
The kiss was soft. And sweet. She always put the slightest dab of vanilla extract on her lips before meetings. His hair was the softest thing, she'd remember. It curled so nicely between her fingers and his body was so warm. So dreadfully, beautifully warm. The kiss turned into a craving mash of lips where she could tell he was thinking of someone else. She could be that someone else for him. He could call her whatever name he wanted.
Yet... somehow in the end Naruto's heart won the battle against his body and he managed to pull away with the sloppiest of smiles.
"You're worth more than me." He says, and presses his lips to her cheek, his hands still working the woman's sides before pulling those away as well. There's no time to be wasted on re-tying the horrible yukata so he doesn't bother and simply walks out of the room without a goodbye. Naruto assumes that one day the district worker will find a way out. Will find her place in the world... And he'll see her out on the streets. Buying groceries or playing in a nearby fair.
This won't happen. And she knows that there's not even the slightest chance. And even so his words gather in her heart and cling to it, like the kindest of leeches. She doesn't mean to cry, but it seems to happen anyway, her tears streaking her finely placed makeup.
Whoever had won that man's heart- A laugh. She rubs her eyes, smearing the foundation further.
Could she be so jealous of someone she had never met?
Such a strange man. Such a tragically strange man...
