[Detective? Really? He looks a bit too young to be a detective, in Cooper's opinion. So he looks a bit skeptical but not mean or totally disbelieving.]
I believe we're all trying to find a way back to our respective homes, but so far nothing has turned up that has enabled us to return. In fact, there doesn't seem to be any information regarding the issue at all.
[Pause. He looks at the Growlithe with a hint of mirth.] Be sure to stay alert in fact any information comes your way, though. Anything that comes up should be noted.

Really? What did she say?
[Have half a second while he ponders that name.] That's Japanese, am I correct? I've wanted to go to Asia for quite some time now. [Totally irrelevant information, but whatever. :D]
[He grinned slightly.] She said you were a nice guy and had great taste in coffee. [Shinichi is amused by that because he's a fan of coffee himself.]
That's right. Japan's a pretty nice country itself. Crime rate's a little higher than it used to be, [which may or may not be his fault but he certainly doesn't believe it is] but it's home.
Re: [Video]blacklodgedNovember 22 2010, 19:10:22 UTC
[Wait until Cooper finds out. He'll demand that coffee is had.] She's got a good taste for it herself. Coffee must surely be one of man's greatest accomplishments.
As a detective, I believe it would be your job to fight that crime rate from climbing further. [There's a bit of that skepticism in there, but he's not being mean about it.]
[Coffee should definitely be had.] Yeah, Coffee is definitely up there.
It is, and I certainly haven't slacked off in that department. [ffft over 600 cases in the past 2 years or so, like hell has he slacked off. Yeah he caught that skepticism, he doesn't mind.]
[He is definitely going to be getting this question a lot so he's resigned.]
I've helped the police with cases back home a few times. It helps that they used to call my dad in to consult on tough cases and sometimes he'd drag me along.
Re: [Video]blacklodgedNovember 22 2010, 21:22:30 UTC
[Well, that changes things. Cooper would've imagined him to be an amateur, a kid playing detective, but if he has had contact with the police, that gives him a lot more credibility.]
I'm considered something of a genius back home. [Ffft! What is this thing you call modesty? He knows he's good, even if he will have to prove himself again here.]
Re: [Video]blacklodgedNovember 22 2010, 21:54:04 UTC
[Coop will probably be a bit skeptic a while longer, but he's an open-minded guy and a great judge of character, and so far, he doesn't think this guy is lying to him. At the same time, Cooper doesn't want to feed his ego. Anyone without modesty he'll remain a bit wary of. It's just a bit offputting, okay.]
I'm going to assume you will pursue an answer as to who have brought us here and why?
[That's fine. It may or may not have something to do with being physically old enough to be taken seriously only after some initial skepticism again to start. Not that he was really all that modest before, but it's a serious blow to your ego to almost die due to screwing up only to end up physically seven/eight years old again and having none of the adults take you seriously for months so you have to let some lazy moron of a PI take credit for most of your cases for a while after that.]
Of course. That's part of the reason Dee-san directed me to you, since she told me you were working on the same thing.

[Sounds rough indeed.]
I see. Yes, I believe it would be a good idea to share our respective ideas and whatever progress we might make. As the saying goes, two heads are better than one - I don't see why it wouldn't be any less true here.

I see. Thanks. I'll be sure to let you know if I find anything.
May I ask your name sir?

[With this we step out of the BUSINESS-role a bit. You can have a bit of a smile in greeting.] Dale Cooper. Might I know yours?

Also, have that skepticism voiced now.] You seem young for a detective.
