[The screen flicks on to a young woman with blond hair. Once she makes the camera zoom out, the first thing that anyone will notice is the
armor she's wearing. She has a dazed look in her eyes.]
I-I'm alive? Was it the Almighty Dolly's divine mercy? Or... was it God's?
[She seems to be pretty shaken up. However, she shakes her head

... Napoleon realizes a moment later that it's his hands shaking, and steadies himself. ]
Joan. Joan, are you all right? Where are you? New Bark?
Reply
Napoleon! [For a brief moment there's a relieved smile on her face and she nods her head.]
Yes, I'm here. Is it true that you're in the next city... Cherrygrove?
Reply
Yeah, I've been here for a while now. It's a few days away from New Bark, so... [ The images of St. Kleio aflame and his own clone come to mind. ] I'll meet you halfway.
Did you... [ Hesitates visibly, expression tightening. ] What happened after everyone was separated?
Reply
[She blinks at his question before her eyes go downcast.]
I... I was rescued by an older clone of Joan, she was trying to save me, but then these other clones surrounded us and one of them looked like Shiro and... and... [She trails off as she remembers fire engulfing the whole area around her.]

There was one of Napoleon, too. Except he attacked me, and after that I woke up here. [ He grabs his jacket, struggling to pull it on in his hurry as Joséphine clambers around to avoid being smushed. ]
I'm just glad you're okay. I... I went back into the auditorium when I found out you hadn't made it out with the rest of us. [ And he's been worrying ever since.]

[Since Napoleon was on the move, she might as well start walking. She keeps holding onto the male Vulpix with her free arm while using the other to hold the gear as she walks along the path leading out of New Bark.]
I was also worried about you, Napoleon. When the other Joan of Arc told me what the Striker Clones were up to, I feared the worst. Are there any other people we know that are here?

[ Off-screen his free hand goes to his thigh, remembering the pain of his own sword stabbing him as he quickly heads out of the inn. ]
I don't think so, unless they've arrived while I was working or training. The last person I saw before waking up in New Bark was Elizabeth, and she told me that Ikkyu and Florence had gone back inside.
Reply
Oh, I see. I just hope they made it out alive.
... [There was still this question on her mind that was bothering her.]
Napoleon, do you happen to know a man who claims to be the embodiment of France?
[In all honesty, Joan found it hard to believe, but the man did seem to know a lot about their originals.]

[ Silently agrees, nodding once before focusing on the path ahead of him to exit Cherrygrove. At the question, he tries to stifle a little snort. ]
He's pretty ridiculous, but I've talked to him quite a bit since arriving here. I... kind of believe him, actually. As insane as it is, we've woken up in this strange place with these Pokémon. And anyways, we clones used to be something that was unbelievable, once.

[She silently listens to him and doesn't speak until he's done.]
He was the first one to talk to me when I arrived. He sort of startled me, but there was something about his voice that told he wasn't lying. [She nods.] That's true and look at us now. They have a whole school filled with clones like us.

[She shifts the gear so the camera catches the Vulpix in her free arm. It tilts its head at the device.]
I thought he was someone's lost pet, but no one in this town has made a claim so I guess he's mine then?
Reply
[ He fiddles a little with his jacket as he marches through the town, nodding. ]
Right, he's your partner pokémon. Joséphine here is mine-- [ The Meowth nyaaaas in greeting. ] --and anyone who arrives gets one. The natives use them in battles, or as traveling companions. So far both of mine enjoy battling, so I've been training them ever since I showed up in... January, I think.

[She looks back down at the Vulpix, who yips a greeting to Joséphine.] Well, he is kind of cute. Guess I have to name him now, huh?
[She blinks.] You've been here for that long?
Reply
[ Ahem. ] I've only spoken with France and the Netherlands so far, but they're both interesting... [ Oblivious about Yao = China still, heh. ]
Yeah, he is pretty cute... Hang on, let me see what he is... [ Fiddling with the Dex, he lets out a quiet hum while trying to figure it out. ] Vulpix, huh. Says here he's a fire-type.
Joséphine's a Meowth, a normal type. [ She mewls back to the Vulpix, then begins purring as Napoleon rubs at the back of his neck. ] Yeah, I arrived here at the end of January.
Reply
[She gets a flashback of the fires again, but she keeps her expression calm.] Fire-type. [She chuckles.] How ironic. For some reason, the first name that came to my mind was Noël.
[Speaking of the Vulpix, he was beginning to cuddle against Joan now.]

[ The auditorium in flames is a constant image in his mind, but now that Joan is with him he hopes he'll be a little more at ease. He offers her a smile. ] I think that's a good name for him.
[ Joséphine does the same, snuggling half into the hood of Napoleon's jacket, half into his neck. ]
