[ The feed opens in Quistis' hands instead of her Riolu's, for once. Her eyes are a bit red; combined with her despondent expression, it's obvious something's amiss. She clears her throat before she speaks. Her voice is steady, if a bit husky. ]

Looks like we'll be moving on to Azalea alone.

[ She manages to summon up a smile for Athrun, but it doesn't much improve the general heavyhearted atmosphere. ]

It's probably for the better. He'll be happier back home, I imagine. And if it's true that time doesn't pass while we're gone, he'll have Rinoa there, too.

Seems that way. [ She glances down only briefly, but doesn't let the rueful expression linger. ] Things got pretty serious between them during our travels, especially there toward the end. ... He did things for her sake that I could hardly imagine. I think, in the end, he saved the world for her.

No, it's fine, Leon. I... it's good to see you. [ Here she halts, suddenly wondering if that was the wrong thing to say, and hesitates, gauging his response. ]

[ Rinoa is....pretty down, too. She didn't want to believe that Squall was gone, but after calling him a few times and seeing for herself that he wasn't here, she had to accept the suckish truth. So she's going to come back early from work, partly because she really doesn't want to cry there and partly because she wants to have someone she knows nearby.

When she enters the room, she tries to summon up some of her cheerful energy for a greeting, but she can't really manage that at the moment. ]

Quisty....

[ What else is there to say? Rinoa's just going to...extend her arms, as if asking for a hug. DO YOU WANT A HUG, QUISTIS? Rinoa's definitely in the mood for one. ]

[ Quistis looks up when Rinoa comes in, and smiles reflexively, but it isn't very bright or spirited. The smile dies a bit more when she sees that Rinoa's usual sunshine is missing. ]

... Hey....

[ The gesture is all she needs. Quistis stands without another word and comes over to hug Rinoa tightly, wrapping both arms around her and pressing her cheek to the other girl's shoulder. It's almost enough to make her cry again. ]

[ There's something very comforting about being held. Rinoa hugs back tightly, trying to keep the tears at bay. ]

He'll....he has to come back soon, right...?

[ Is it bad for her to hope for something like that? But that's the one thing she's clinging to, that keeps her from fully breaking down. That and the fact that she's not alone, not as long as Quistis is here. ]

[ As soon as she's sure she can control herself, Quistis pulls back a bit to grip Rinoa's shoulders and look her in the eyes. ]

Even if he doesn't, Rinoa, he's not alone. He'll be okay; he has friends he can count on. And so do we, right? [ Despite her bright eyes, she smiles reassuringly, squeezing Rinoa's shoulders. ]

We'll be okay, too.
