[Ken's stopped for serious time. He's lying back in bed, in the room he and Youji are sharing--the other man's nowhere to be seen--idly scratching Ratty's ears. The little purple Pokemon is bruxing happily at the attention.]...so, I was thinking

I'm actually on the other end of the equation... see, the person I know from home is the one who knows everything, and since I'm so used to being the older, more experienced, more attractive one between us, it's something to get used to.

[Flip to serious mode.]
This must really bother you if you're actually thinking about it.

This is just as weird for me as it is for you. I just...if I tell you, there isn't any takin' that back. And you might decide that you really didn't want to know, once I'm done.

[Smiles slightly.]
But it's second nature to ask, isn't it? And you've already pointed out how much I enjoy things that really aren't good for me.
What would you want to know, if you wanted to know?

[He smiles, but it's a bit lopsided and not really reaching his eyes. He's not touching that second part.]
...well, from where I stand now? I wouldn't want to know. But if I was in your shoes, I probably would. Hindsight's a bitch, isn't it?

[Youji matches the smile, right to the lack of sincerity. That Ken can fake that smile bodes not well.]
From where you stand now, you're what, twenty-five? Thirty's getting up there in assassin years. You're about to hit your physical peak.

I won't talk about Omi or Aya. S'not my place. Not much to say about Aya anyway.
[But Youji should probably have a bit of warning, if Ken was going to have a relapse. It could happen. He was terrified of the idea, but it could. And Youji would both be in the line of fire and the one who'd have to stop him.]
[...still, though. He didn't want to talk about this. It's plain on his face, in his tone.]

Do you want me to come home? Shift's nearly over, anyway, I'm just trying not to get caught up in anything before I can leave.
[It'd give them both time to prepare, and even encryptions can be broken, after all.]

[Deep sense of foreboding. This will not be pretty.]
I probably owe you a few errands, too, if you want me to bring anything back. Might even be able to swing the nurse.

[Yeah you have good reason for that. Ken considers the offer of errands.]
Don't think so. Just grab whatever you think sounds good for dinner.
