02: Video for Cherrygrove

[Ion’s finally in Cherrygrove, having taken a while longer than he had hoped on account of being forced to stop and rest more often than he would have liked. For some reason, he seems to be healthier than he was back home, which has helped matters slightly, although he’s still relatively frail.

[She takes a deep breath.]

Yeah, I'm here but. What are you doing? You shouldn't be walking around. You shouldn't be here! I remember you...you [she thinks of a way to put it delicately]...went away.

I'm not sure why I'm here myself. [Ion frowns as he searches for a change of subject. This topic is probably just as uncomfortable for Anise as it is for him, and the last thing he wants to do is make her sad.]

How long have you been here, Anise?

[She still can't grasp the fact that she's having a conversation with Ion, but she decides to act as calm as possible. She doesn't want to make Ion worry, either.]

I've been here for a little while! I'm almost at Cherrygrove, myself. Just a little ways to go! [She makes an effort to go back to her normal, cheery self.]

How about you, Ion? How have you been?

[Ion manages a smile. The news that Anise will soon be in the area is enough to cheer him up considerably.]

I see. I'll wait for you here then, if you would like.

I've been doing well. Everyone here has been quite kind, although it's taken a bit of getting used to this world. What about yourself?

That'd be great; I'm almost there, Ion! [Despite the shock from seeing her best friend again, she's glad she gets to see him soon.]

I'm glad that you're doing all right. You haven't being tiring yourself out too much, have you? I'm really glad you can't use your artes here...
I'm doing just fine. I've only talked to a few people, but they've been really helpful.

I'm glad to hear that you're doing well. I've been careful to not overexert myself, so please don't worry.

Are you unable to use your artes as well then? It was a surprise to discover that I couldn't use mine.

Hmph. Well, all right. I'm glad you aren't overexerting yourself or anything [yet there's still a hint of worry in her voice.]

No artes for me. It's really frustrating that I can't do much of anything, and I don't have Tokunaga, either. But I've got Mieu and this egg here to keep me company! [She turns the camera and gestures to the Vulpix poking at a dark purple egg.]

I am glad that you have company at least. Please be careful on your way here though.

[He stares at the egg for a moment, slightly surprised.]

Is that a Pokemon egg? I've never seen one before.

[She spots Ion and runs towards him, poking him in the arm.]

Ion! There you are! I'm so glad to see you're actually okay!

[A giant hug from a very excited Anise!]

[Ion returns the hug, grinning.]

I'm glad to see you made it here safely as well.

Ion! I'm so glad to see you again. I...I missed you so much.

[Anise looks like she's about to cry, but she shakes her head and holds back the tears.]

I've missed you too.

[Ion hates to see Anise look so sad, and so he forces a smile and places a hand on her shoulder, not sure what to say.]

[She sniffles a little and regains her composure. She doesn't want Ion to feel uncomfortable after they've just reunited.]

So Ion, are you traveling alone with your pokemon, or have you made any new friends?

Although I've spoken with several very helpful people, I've been traveling with only Oddish so far. Have you found anyone to travel with yet?

[He realizes that Anise is perfectly capable of handling herself, of course, but he'd be happy to know that she at least wasn't lonely on the way to Cherrygrove.]
