I'm afraid that most of the humans I've come in contact with have not been the most pleasant people to associate with.

All they do is summon me through black magic, I make a contract with them, grant their desires, then they just toss me aside once its all over. [She pouts.] Honestly, witches have feelings too.

Unlike demons, witches do not feed on souls. In my world, boredom is one of the few things that can kill a witch, so we entertain ourselves by toying with the humans' lives. The amusement we get is rewarding enough.

Besides, a witch of my rank wouldn't need anything from the humans. Although, a 'thank you' would be much appreciated.

It's not as if we need to make contracts in order to take souls. Personally, I find it more rewarding to work for my meals. If there were nothing in it for me, however, I wouldn't be wasting my time with them.

Well, you see, a long time ago a man named Kinzo decided to make a deal with me. I give him some gold so he can use it to build his family's legacy back up and when he dies, or disclaims his ownership to the gold, I get to take it all back. Which means all the wealth he's built from my gold, including his descendants.

And recently, he's decided to disclaim his rights to the gold. He even gave me the ring that only the head of the family wears. See? [She holds up her hand so Sebastian can see a gold ring with a one-winged eagle engraved on it. However, there's another gold ring in the shape of snake on another finger.]

Demons have no use for the material wealth of humans. My young master pays me for my services, as he does the other house staff, but it's of little consequence to me. Gold is no more appealing than mud.

That right there is another difference between us. Though it depends on the witch, most do tend to desire certain riches whether it be power or gold.

As for myself, I happen to desire both.
