Character
Name: Terezi Pyrope
Series: Homestuck
Timeline:  After explaining her role to Dave (this)
Canon Resource Links: Wiki

Personality:
Terezi is a skilled manipulator; even Vriska admires her ability to  control people without any supernatural abilities, just her own intellect.  Of the four trolls that contact the human kids, she is the only one who can be said to have effectively trolled them in the normal understanding of the word.  Perhaps surprisingly given this, she is also deeply interested in the law and justice, with a focus on punishing evildoers (although based on the roleplaying she does with her stuffed dragons, she is decidedly bloodthirsty).  This so was both why she started FLARPing in the first place and why she called it off with Vriska; she only wanted the guilty to suffer, while Vriska was not nearly so discerning.

Terezi overcame her blindness by boosting her sense of smell and taste.  While this allows her to get by easily, it also causes her to develop some less than socially acceptable habits.  She licks nearly everything and has an obsession with colors based on their taste and smell.  This ranges from the strange, such as eating chalk, to the borderline disturbing, such as when she eagerly asks Dave what his blood tastes like.  She habitually refers to things by their "flavors" in place of colors or other identifiers.

Terezi's usually highly energetic, and frequently flirtatious.  She generally approaches things in a playful manner, and enjoys engaging in banter with Dave, as well as horrible paint drawings.   However, she's also extremely rude at times, and is deceitful as well, rarely revealing her true motivations to anyone.  She can be extremely frustrating to deal with, especially to people who aren't used to her, or the easily ignored.  She doesn't seem to take much of anything seriously on the outside, and frequently treats serious matters with a blase attitude.  At times she can even be callous with regards to people's lives, such as trying to talk John into what would be a suicide mission or using an alternative timeline Dave's death as a way to explain a point to him.  She does cry upon seeing the alternative Dave die, suggesting she has more serious feelings hiding behind her playful facade.

Because of Terezi's role as the Seer of Mind, she understands how much influence her mind has on her reality - it's something you make yourself, not just something that just happens to you.  Unlike everyone else, she doesn't feel confused or angry by the circumstances, but accepts them for what they are. She doesn't really believe in the concept of fate, openly stating that "LUCK DO3SNT M4TT3R".  She also is extremely good at interpreting people's motivations and finding out what they're hiding.

Third Person Sample:
Terezi and her Gastly, the newly christened Sir Licorice Terrorgrape, set out to explore the nefarious hive of scum and villainy that the Team Rocket base undoubtedly was.  She was irritated to note that, along with most annoyingly being made human, her senses had also been weakened.  She could make out a color if she sniffed it heavily, but she was blind to her surroundings, and only by aid of her cane could she make her way around the building.  That Sir Terrorgrape had a tendency to float directly in front of her face was even more of a hindrance, and she could barely make anything out over his sickly-sweet odor.

Her cane rapped against the hard wooden floor as she began her investigation.  So far, there was no sign of life anywhere in the building; Terezi had not even encountered another kidnapping victim, much less someone more prosecutable.  All she had to go on was a poorly-composed and rather uninformative letter (that had been thoughtfully written in braille with a delicious red logo).

"I don't like the idea of going along with a criminal organization," she commented to Sir Terrorgrape, "but it looks like that's our only choice for now.  Especially since this stupid town is completely water-bound.  You can't exactly levitate me across the water, can you?"

"Gah-ah-stly," cackled Sir Terrorgrape uninformatively.

"You know, I think I'm actually starting to get used to you," Terezi said.  "You're still pretty weird, but I bet you'd be a great."  She patted it awkwardly, Sir Terrorgrape positioning himself beneath her hand.  A mild chill ran through her as her hand passed through the miasma surrounding him, and she was surprised to find that his body, while feeling rather light and delicate, was actually solid.

So far, Terezi had not found much to appreciate in this new world - certainly not the physical changes, dulled senses, or forced induction into a criminal organization.  But at the same time, she could see it being… bearable, at the very least.
