third form; ATTACK OF THE SENTRETS {New Year's Eve} - video/action for cherrygrove

Dec 31, 2010 20:01

It was late afternoon, and the light was beginning to fade, shadows lengthening and Hoothoots began to chime the hour, and Ise Nanao could see the lights of Cherrygrove.

"About time," She sighed, and took another few plodding steps. Her feet were chilled to the core and soaked through, as straw waraji and cotton tabi do not obviously provide much protectiong against freezing snow. Even the seemingly indomitable spirits of the terrible two of Isane and Kiyone were at an all time low, with Isane having now learnt that pushing Mummy into snowdrifts only resulted in being yelled at, and Kiyone had learnt that eating all of their food was a very bad idea.

...never mind that Kiyone the silly sassy Abra was actually a boy, whereas his namesake had been female, and that Isane was actually a genderless Pokemon. And then there was Nanao. Poor confused and emotionally wrecked Nanao. Pulled from a point where her world (as she knew it) was potentially about to come crashing down around her, she had been thrust into a strange new world, where animals were sentient (and apparently psychic), where all the laws of biology, physics and space/time had been turned on their heads, and where other people from her future existed at the same time as her, all without causing paradoxes.

It went without saying that she was almightily confused. And, to top it all off, she was forced to trek through snow that was taller than her at points to reach the next town. She was dirty, exhausted, and was on the verge of bursting into tears if she didn't make it into the Cherrygrove City Limits by nightfall.

"A-abraaa." "Tooone..." Kiyone was struggling along in Nanao's tracks, his short legs struggling valiantly with every step through the slushy, muddy snow. Isane was faring no better; 'she' had only been born not more than a day ago and tired easily, although, in these conditions, everyone tired easily.

Nanao took another slow, dragging step... and her foot landed on something soft, squishy, and aliiiive.

"SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENTREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!"

Suddenly, Sentrets. Sentrets everywhere. Popping up with little vindictive eyes, glaring their hatred at Nanao and her two Pokemon. They were scrawny little beasties, winter obviously having taken it's toll on them, with ragged fur and jagged claws.

Nanao looked down. The Sentret underfoot looked up. "Oh, no." And then they attacked.

Fur flew left and right, and some unfortunate rodent things were punted overhead by Nanao's feet, and then there was a spark and a crackle, and a path was cleared by the electrical might of Kiyone's Thunderpunch... before more of them swarmed in.

Nanao was trampled, covered in scratching and biting little creatures, and, unthinkingly, threw her bag at them, causing one single Pokeball to hit one rather under-sized exemplar of the species, which promptly glowed and vanished into the red-and-white sphere; yet Nanao didn't have time to gloat as MOAR of the damn things came surging back into the fray, before they were promptly decked by a now-leveled up Kiyone using Confusion, which finally defeated the horde.

Hissing and snarling, they retreated back into the growing gloom to wait for the next prey to come along. Nanao sat in the snow, catching her breath, not even caring that she was now wet all over, and bleeding from a dozen scrapes and cuts. One single bloodied tear rolled down her face (or was it sweat?) and dropped into the snow, staining it a violent vermilion. Her breath caught in her chest, breaking into kind of a sob, as she rose unsteadily to her feet and tottered finally into Cherrygrove after six long and hard days of struggling through snowdrifts, the last two and a half of which had been completed on an empty stomach.

Kiyone slowly crawled over to Nanao on three limbs, the fourth bleeding heavily from a long gash rendered by sharp teeth, and in that bloody paw he clutched the Pokeball; while Isane scooped up the pack by one strap and floated up on the other side of her mum, determined to, in future, protect her from all that Johto could throw at them.

{Replies on the 'Gear will come after she's staggered into the Pokemon Centre, but feel free to come up to her in person!}
