Wellllll, pretty much all resource links say the same thing-- Rainbow Dash is an athletic tomboy that makes flying her passion.

So have some ~*fun facts*~ to go with that! Back in Equestria, Rainbow Dash lived in a town called Ponyville. Or rather... above Ponyville in a house situated on a cloud. It is mentioned that she spent some time in camp when she was younger-- the flying-based Junior Speedsters Camp. She adored the experience, and won’t hesitate to sing the camp’s song or recount anecdotes from the time.
Her job in Ponyville is to help with what the majority of other pegasus ponies do: manage the weather by planning out rain, and keeping the skies clear of clouds on other days. It’s not unusual for her to slack off on her duties though.

Affiliation: Trainer

Personality: The first thing one is bound to notice about Dash is her boundless enthusiasm and glowing confidence. She is very proud and self-assured, not adverse to bragging about her skills and talents-- even going out of her way to display them. She tends to speak very highly of herself, accordingly, proclaiming herself to be the “fastest flier”, bound to be a “future Wonderbolt”. She sets her eyes on rather unattainable goals, such as being part of the high-esteemed and famous Wonderbolts flying team, and strives eagerly to reach them. Her goals and talents are her passions, and her pride and confidence hinges on them. Having a purpose is something also important to her-- she has a love for competition and revels in the process of reaching for a certain goal (in her case, practicing and learning new flying techniques to show off to the Wonderbolts) as well as attaining it.

Dash is very extroverted and speaks openly, loud and proud. Her mannerisms and speaking style are energetic and quick-- quite a bit of hand gestures (though perhaps awkward, because this will be her first time having fingers) and speedy talking. Her speaking tone is very casual though; she speaks like any human teenager would, slang included, but with some oh-so-punny “Pony Speak” (i.e.: “Everypony” instead of “everybody”, “nopony” instead of “nobody”, “kick their hindquarters” instead of “kick their butts”, etc.). She shows a wide variety of expressions, all of which should be easy for others to read. She doesn’t hide much, stating her opinions outright and fearlessly. As such, she has very few purposeful secrets. She’s so proud of who she is-- why wouldn’t everyone want to know everything about her? She is quite a show-off, taking efforts to show off her talents just so others can see them.

Dash likes to think of herself as a “tough girl” type of character. She acts fearless and invincible, and her actions show that she may believe she really is, in some aspects. She can be reckless and headstrong, and didn’t always hang around the best crowd growing up. Emerging from risky actions unscathed is a point of pride for her, which she relishes above most else, which often urges her to try them without hesitation (but not before gathering an audience, of course). She dislikes being associated with the “uncool”, and has a bit of a bad habit of judging books by their covers. She’s very tomboyish and rough-and-tumble; she doesn’t mind getting dirty and she’s definitely not one for frills.

Dash is, however, not as tough as she makes herself out to be. She gets upset, frightened, hurt, and, of course, experiences loss. While Dash is confident in herself and what she does, more sensitive moments aren’t dealt with such confidence. She most often denies her sensitivity, often dodging around the subject instead of staying to talk them out with someone. If she is scared of something, she will deny it, or say she was only acting scared. If she is upset, she will distance herself from others, or lash out at them. She pretends losses don’t hurt her, feigning apathy for whatever competition she lost, or claiming she “went easy” on her opponent. There are traces of vanity in her disposition, due to her over-confidence and pride, which causes her to also be a bit disrespectful to people, even her friends, to make herself seem more superior or in control. She gets easily frustrated with those that can’t match up to her bravery, and has a short temper. She can be a total slacker as well; while she can spend hours at a time training and practicing flying techniques, she is quick to disregard work that is unrelated to her passions.

Dash is also a jokester, and her favorite pastime is pulling pranks on others. She will take time into planning these pranks, and will try to make them as clever as she can-- they’re funnier that way, of course! She never does any potentially harmful pranks though, and only on people she knows can handle them (which is why she strays away from characters like Shutterfly in this regard-- they’re too sensitive to tell it’s just a joke). There are purely for fun, and she will stay to let “victims” know that it’s just for fun and not her meaning to be cruel.

Dash’s Element of Harmony shown in her canon is “loyalty”. She may put up the tough front, and she had has talents to back up that front, but beneath all that is a fierce loyalty to all her companions. She cares deeply for her friends, though she doesn’t always show it in the most orthodox of ways. She usually shows her love through teasing, bickering, pranking-- the “tough love” package-- and through just... spending time together. Companionship means a lot to her, and any sort of betrayal is met with outright rage. She doesn’t always hold grudges though, and does tend to forgive more often than most would.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths: As is very very obviously stated in her canon, Dash’s strongest suit is her loyalty. She’s the type that would fight for her friends’ safety and stick with them through difficult times. In her canon, she goes as far as to turn down a “guaranteed” position in the Wonder Bolts for the sake of protecting her friends. Though she doesn’t quite show it, she’s very devoted to her companions. Dash is very self-assured and enthusiastic, with energy and optimism to boot. Because of this, she makes a good traveler and trainer, as she will always be excited for whatever awaits ahead, and is not afraid to take risks. She is brave, not afraid to face daunting tasks to get where she wants to go. She’s determined and persistent in working toward her goals, which will now include becoming a skilled trainer-- she’ll definitely try her best to show her stuff!
In regards to physical strengths, while her wings have been taken away and she’ll have to adjust to getting around on two legs instead of four, she has maintained an athletic build. Nothing superhuman, but she has quite a bit of stamina, and once she gets used to those legs, will be able to get around fairly quickly, perhaps quicker than most. She’s also virtually undeterred by weather conditions due to the fact she literally lived in the sky, and due to her tomboyish nature, she doesn’t mind getting dirty or a little scuffed up. She’s definitely the type for *~adventure~*.

Weaknesses: While her confidence can be a strong suit, in cases, it may also be her downfall. She can be very over-confident at times, and may take too many risks and get herself (and possibly others) into danger. This overconfidence makes her arrogant at times, and she claims her own goals are more important than those of others. She likes to make herself seem more superior, and has a habit of teasing, sometimes getting a bit too harsh. She can be disrespectful to others, downgrading their abilities, taunting them, or disregarding their opinions. She doesn’t really mean to insult people, but... probably will. She has quite the attitude to go along with this.
Again, in regards to physical weaknesses, she’ll be very... awkward in adjusting to her human form. She’ll have a habit of picking things up with her mouth instead of her hands, and may attempt walking around on all fours with embarrassing results. She’ll also have to get used to having soft skin and fingers instead of hooves. And, of course, the loss of her wings will leave her a bit disheartened for a while. Bad mood central!

Pokemon
Starter: a female Ponyta: “Blazing Bolt” As if I’d give her anything other than a pony with a ridiculous name.

Password: French toast!

Samples
(Please note that both samples must take place in Route_29’s setting.)

First Person Sample: [When the feed crackles to life, the screen is simply filled with thin, white fur and a pair of nostrils-- the muzzle of what appears to be a horse pressed to the screen, snuffling at it curiously. Each little sniff expels a tendril of smoke from the nostrils, and occasionally, a small cinder. There’s a loud, feminine voice as the Ponyta is pushed away from the screen.]

Heeeyyy, you’re gonna break it doing that! Didn’t your folks teach ya any manners? I mean, geez, Blaze...

[The Ponyta whinnies, and trots away from the screen. A human face pops up in the ‘gear-- a young woman with... rather colorful hair and big, unblinking magenta eyes. She looks over her shoulder briefly at the retreating Pokemon, grinning at it, as if expecting it to laugh at her joke. When the Ponyta makes no response, she sighs through her teeth, giving the screen an unimpressed look.]

Look, I don’t know how you guys managed to kidnap me like this-- or what any of you even are... But I want my wings back now! I don’t wanna be one of you! I’m not a... a hue-mun! Whatever the heck that is... I don’t have time to deal with all of you-- even though I totally would deal with ya any other time-- so put me back in Ponyville right NOW!

[A silence, as the girl seethes. The Ponyta trots across the background, and the girl bares her teeth in a scowl. Apparently, she’s tried the same threat already, judging by her slightly weary sigh. ... Worth a try, at least.]

UUUGH-- Fine then! Have it your way! You want me to get all those gym badge thingies or whatever-- fine! [She suddenly grins and puffs out her chest.] It’ll be a piece of cake! I just get those badges and you drop me off back home-- that’s the deal!

Just watch me. You bet I’ll have it done in no time flat!

Third Person Sample: Becoming one of the hue-muns wasn’t something Rainbow Dash was exactly prepared to do. The things seemed to give her odd looks whenever she did anything. She had decided to get a bite to eat-- apparently, the hue-muns didn’t think that eating grass was normal. They all walked on two feet too, not four. And their legs and arms were spindly and weak! And fingers-- what were those about?! They didn’t even have claws or anything!

She had taken to adjusting to her new dimensions, simply out of spite for the rest of the humans. She wasn’t entirely supportive of the idea of “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” (she was more of a “if you can’t beat ‘em, try harder” sort of pony), but it seemed the way of beating them was acting like them. Lulling them into a false sense of security, maybe! The idea appealed to her inner trickster.

Walking somewhat awkwardly on her two legs, she noticed that she at least kept a bit of her animalistic alertness; a rustle in the bramble to her left instantly drew her attention, and she grinned expectantly. She had been stuck here for long enough to discover the creatures that dwelled here-- Pokemon, they were called. They weren’t that different from her friends back home in appearance, but they wouldn’t speak any language she could understand. Made them easier to fight at least-- and fight they did.

A small ball of brown fluff tore itself from the bushes with a shrill battle cry, darting to a spot not far in front of Dash before picking itself up on its tail. The long ears atop its head twitched, and, for a moment, Dash equated it with Angel, the rabbit Fluttershy was always hanging out with. It sure looked evil enough.

... Come to think of it, Fluttershy would’ve loved seeing all the animals here. Maybe not the whole battling and training part, but...

Dash shook her head and forced back on the eager grin. That was her goal after all-- getting back to those friends! She had to keep this up, and enthusiasm was the way to go.

She grabbed for the only occupied Pokeball on her not-so-subtle rainbow-streaked belt and, with some awkward experimental fumbling of her fingers, tossed it into the air.

“Show ‘em what you’ve got, Blaze!”

The Ponyta burst forth in a dazzling, flaming blur to stand between Dash and the Sentret. Blazing Bolt pawed at the earth beneath her hooves, scattering dust into the air. It was a bit-- and always would be, Dash thought-- odd to be commanding a pony around in battle. But it was something she had to do. Not like the Ponyta was like any pony she’d ever seen. She’d heard of pegasus ponies, unicorn ponies, just ponies... but not a dragon pony. That... is what she expected this pony to be, anyway. Hey, it breathed fire! Nothing but dragons could do that-- everypony knew that!

Dash pointed energetically at the Sentret. “Take him down! Tackle!” The Ponyta snorted and rushed fearlessly at her opponent.

Dash would win this match. Geez, if all the Pokemon in this place were this wimpy, this really would be a piece of cake!
