[today, at long last, Beat wakes up from his stupidly long power nap in the Cherrygrove pokemon center. His muscles are all stiff, so he spends a good long time stretching and grunting./Finally, with an audacious yawn, he gets out of the hospital bed - wait, HOSPITAL BED? How did he end up here?! He starts to bolt out of the room and demand to know what happened, but stops himself before he knocks over an entering nurse, an oh so cheerful nurse.]
"Oh, you're finally awake! Do you feel all right?"
[The nurse is met with a volley of heated questions, but she smiles blankly as though they went in one ear and out the other, taking it for a "yes!"]
"Good! Please check out at the front desk. Your pokemon can be retrieved from the computer."
YO! Don't ignore me!! Hey, you listenin'?! I asked you somethin', get wid the explaining!
[10 minutes later, Beat gives up this futile practice and goes to get his Pokemon. Upon retrieving his sentret, he is struck with a morbid idea, and immediately releases her, then seizes her by the shoulders]
Hey, you lil' punk! I betchu poisoned me in my sl-
[he is interrupted by a sentret slurp to the face. He recoils, releasing her shoulders... and she scrambles up and over to cling to his back like an awkward backpack, bunnylike ears sticking up from behind his head. His attempts to grab her off are equally awkward, like an itch he can't scratch.]
Gah!!
[meanwhile, Lil is nuzzling him with her face. Apparently she's warmed up to her trainer in favor of being boxed... but all she gets is an irritated glance over the shoulder]
Man, you are weirdin' me out.
[he holds up her pokeball, buttonmashing on its front. She ducks, bobs and weaves to dodge the little tractor beam. Beat's not getting her off his back anytime soon...]

[there's some grumbling as the feed turns on, but finally, Beat's lovely voice transmits from your Pokegear. He is mainly trying to call Neku but due to accidents or laziness it transmits everywhere.]
