Tis the season....

for weddings. Holy snikes!!! It seems like everyone is either engaged or getting married! I'm going to 3 weddings in the next 2 months. I'm really excited that I'm playing for Susan's 'cause that will just be an awesome part of my wedding present for her. However, with all of these weddings comes the showers and such. It's so exciting for them, but I'm having a hard time with the fact that it could have been me too. I'm taking it out on people in a weird way too. Hell, Jared and I aren't speaking now, because I've stressed him out to the point of him having high blood preasure. At least Laura understands my sentiments....but it's still such a strange phenomenon. People say that the age for getting married is getting higher and such, but why does it seem like so many people are still getting married with 2 years of graduating college (or while still being in college?)? I'd love to see the exact statistic on all that...but early 20s is old compared to 40 years ago when everyone was getting married between 16-18. Go figure.

Soooo....I'm leaving for Barbados to visit my Auntie on Sunday. I'm so excited to get away for a while. I'm going to get so sunburned, but I just don't care. It's going to be great to see her, see the house, and be in the tropics where the lows are in the 80s.

Only 2 more weeks of 1st grade fun, and then I have been asked to stay on as the receptionist until the end of July until I go to work WHS Orchestra Camp. It'll be totally different from being in the classroom, but a good change of pace from the grading papers and writing lesson plans. I'm quite excited about my new job.

Speaking of excitement, I'm DEFINITELY going to the University of Miami next year as their string graduate teaching assistant. I signed my contract and mailed it back yesterday. I'll be teaching an undergraduate string methods course, 4th and 5th grade strings at their on-campus lab school, and assisting with a doctoral writing class (basically, editing papers). I'm really excited about the possibilities in store for me down there. It is a very different atmosphere from South Carolina....very free thinking, outside of the box. I'm currently looking for a place to live...so if anyone has any connections in Miami....let me know! And on that note, GO 'CANES!!! but always GO GAMECOCKS! :-)
