This is for the Top 5 Favorite Disney Characters challenge at disney_uberland.

Bernard from The Rescuers Down Under

Sweet and sensitive, Bernard wanted nothing more than for the chance to propose to the one he loved. But he willingly set aside his own plans when duty called, to save a kidnapped little boy who needed the help of the Rescuers. Even when everyone else was captured, he was determined to do what was right; all alone, despite the near-impossible odds stacked against him, and his own insecurities about himself, he didn't let any of that stop him from facing the dangers, because he was willing to do anything to save them. Plus...well, I mean just look at him! He's just so cute!

Marlin from Finding Nemo

(Couldn't resist the Father-Son shot lol)

Probably the epitome of over-protectiveness, but Marlin's heart was in the right place. He just wanted to keep his son safe, and who could blame him? He'd lost everything else (his wife, all his other kids), and all he wanted was to protect the only one he had left. Granted he made some mistakes, and he tried too hard, but he truly wanted what was best for his son. There's no dispute about how much he loves Nemo, and he did learn to let go eventually; that what was really best for his son was to let him live.

Antauri from Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!

Despite being a warrior, Antauri's wish is for lasting peace, and he prefers to fight only when there's no other alternative. He's a wise, spiritual being with ghost-like powers, and he highly values life. He also cares deeply for the others, Chiro in particular, and is always willing to help them out (in a sort of wise, drive-you-crazy-because-he-wants-you-to-think kinda way). He even sacrifices himself in order to save them, but the bond between him and Chiro is so strong that Chiro manages to bring him back in a new body that's stronger, but has its own set of problems (because I really think that a fully mechanical body can have a lot more problems than half-and-half). And he's voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson, who happens to voice a few of my other favorite (non-Disney) characters (lol what can I say? I like trying to notice voice actors).

Belle from Beauty and the Beast

Belle is just a magnificent character. She's smart and loves to read, she's beautiful, and she's not afraid to be herself. But she also longs for someone to understand her, to see that she's different and accept her as she is, which I think makes her a more realistic character. She's strong and independent, but she also realizes when she needs help, and is willing to repay the kindness she's received. Once someone has earned her trust, she is steadfast and cares very deeply about them.

Beast from Beauty and the Beast

I think part of the reason I love the Beast so much is because he starts off so cold and angry, which makes his gradual change during the movie all the more endearing. He learns to look past the surface and see the way things truly are, not just what they look like. He sees beyond Belle's physical beauty (which is of course what everyone notices about her) and discovers the kind, caring person she is, and that is when he falls in love with her. And as he learns to open his heart more, he discovers that there's more to him than the "monster" (honestly, I think he's cute and fluffy....XD;; ) he was turned into, and that there is a deeper part of him; someone who is capable of loving someone else, and is capable of being loved.
