Week 5: Gemstone
Theme A: Pearl
"Mamoru-baka, what is your favorite gemstone?" Usagi asked. Her fingers drummed on the keyboard silently, as she waited for his answer.
Mamoru looked at the screen to see what Usagi was playing. 'Find out your love compatibility' he read and then saw three slots. On the right side he saw that Usagi had already entered her name and birthday, but left the genstone question blank.
He saw the same for his. "How did you know when my birthday is?" Mamoru asked, raising his eyebrows.
"Motoki nii-san told me," Usagi said. "But he didn't know what was your favorite gemstone."
"And why are you doing this, Odango?" Mamoru asked. Secretly, though, he did want to see if he and Usagi were compatible. "Don't you have any other guy friends who's name you could put on there other than mine?"
A small blush made its way to Usagi's cheek. "I would, but your name was the first one that came to my mind. So..." she continued. "What is your favorite gemstone, baka?"
Mamoru thought for a bit, as he never really thought about his favorite gemstone. It wasn't until the brooch on Usagi's ribbon caught his attention. "Topaz," he answered.
Usagi nodded and moved the controller until she found all the letters on the screen. She then selected 'okay' and Mamoru's side disappeared except for hers. After thinking for a moment, she started to input the letters P-E-A-R-L into the box.
The two held their breaths for a moment as they heard the machine print out their results silently. Moments later two pieces of white paper popped out and Usagi grabbed them. She handed one to Mamoru, who looked amused to see Usagi's reaction as she opened hers.
"Motoki nii-san," he heard Usagi say. "I think this stupid machine is broken."
Mamoru opened the paper to find that his and Usagi's love compatibility was 100%.
