Long time, no write

Hi everyone! I was looking through and realized that I hadn't actually posted anything to this community since the end of the drabble contest back in August! I didn't mean to be gone so long, but...you know. Life. Crazy. Me. Crazy.

So, I decided to celebrate my first drabble back with a bit of almost-smut. ~_^ It's the third in my Crystal Tokyo series, which, for those who are new (hi new people!) is a series of interrelated fics that follow the life of Serenity and Endymion. Again, these are thematically sexual, but not (completely) explicit, so read with caution if you're the easily embarrassed type--as opposed to me, who is a shameless hussy

Before reading this one, I suggest reading Hide and Seek and Men With Big Feet first. They aren't necessary, as if this a perfectly good stand-alone story, but it'll add to your understanding of what's happening here.

The sun was sinking below the horizon, casting long crimson and gold streamers across the sky. Endymion sat on the blanket, truly at peace for the first time in a long while. It was just the three of them here at the beach: him, his wife, and their young daughter; a regular family on an outing. The illusion would break in the morning, as their rank intruded once more upon their lives, but for the rest of the evening, he could pretend to be nothing more than a simple husband and father.

Serenity was sitting in front of him, her golden head tucked beneath his chin, with his arms wrapped loosely around her waist. Chibi-Usa rested in her lap, thumb firmly planted in her mouth, her cotton-candy head burrowed into her mother’s shoulder.

“It’s so peaceful here,” Serenity whispered, gazing out into the ocean. “I can’t believe we only have a few more hours here.” She sounded wistful. Like him, Serenity had learned to cherish those fleeting moments when they could shed their mantles of power and royalty, and just be themselves.

“Walk with me, Sere?” Endymion murmured, dropping a kiss onto her head. “Just down the beach a little ways.”

“But, Endy, Small Lady--”

“Will be fine. She’s completely asleep, you tuckered her out.” He grinned, and though Serenity couldn’t see it, she could hear it in his voice. “Besides, Luna-P is here to guard her, and we won’t be gone very long,” he promised, standing. “I’d just like to take a walk down the beach with my lovely wife and enjoy the sunset.”

Sighing in mock-exasperation, Serenity carefully laid their daughter onto the blue beach blanket, and tucked a large, fluffy towel around her. The evening was still warm, but the breeze across the ocean could be nippy. They set the Luna-P to Guard mode, which would alert them immediately if Chibi-Usa awoke or if anyone approached, and headed down to the wet sand at the edge of the ocean.

They walked in companionable silence for a bit, content with just holding the other’s hand and just being with one another. The tide was coming in, and every so often Serenity would squeal as a cold wave would wash over her toes. Which would cause Endymion to pick her up and spin her around, then set her back down with a kiss. Then they’d walk a little further, a wave would come in, and she’d squeal again. By the time the blanket had disappeared behind a sand dune, they had kissed six times. In short, it was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

Well, almost a perfect ending, anyway.

Endymion had really meant to keep their walk short and playfully romantic. Really. But when he set her down for a seventh time and leaned in for a kiss, Serenity stumbled into him. What was going to be a brief kiss became something completely different as her arms flew around his neck and her body crashed into his. It wasn’t enough to knock him back into the sand, but it was enough to send him reeling emotionally. After that brief interlude on the blanket earlier that afternoon, Endy had been able to keep his desire in check by reminding himself that their daughter would be falling asleep within a matter of hours, and then he’d have his wife all to himself. Well, Chibi-Usa was fast asleep, he and Serenity were alone, and the feel of her lush body pressed up against his was enough to set him aflame.

“Sorry,” Sere giggled. “There was a shell, I think, half-buried in the sand--” She didn’t get to finish her explanation before Endymion’s mouth covered hers in a hard, demanding kiss. His hands left her waist and glided down to cup her bottom, and he pulled her closer, so that her legs straddled his thigh. When he finally broke the kiss, his eyes were dark and hooded, his breathing ragged. Serenity looked at him, her cheeks rosy and her lips a bit swollen. But rather than surprise or even amusement, he only saw a desire that rivaled his own. Any last vestige of restraint he might have been able to dredge up was erased with that look. He swept her up into his arms and kissed her hungrily again; then walked back to the sand dune, and laid her down upon it.

It was a testament to his skill that he was able to remove her bikini without breaking the kiss, and divest himself of his swim trunks while skimming kisses down the golden skin of her belly. Sometimes she would giggle when he hit a particularly sensitive spot, but soon the only noises coming from behind the sand dune were soft sighs and the occasional hoarse moan.

The sun was almost completely gone by the time they emerged; hair mussed and bathing suits full of sand. Endymion couldn’t help the self-satisfied grin-he’d been looking forward to seducing his wife for a looong time. “Careful,” he said as they passed the section of beach where Serenity originally stumbled. “Don’t want you to trip again.”

Serenity looked up at him and burst out laughing. “What?” he asked, nonplussed.

“You silly man,” she replied, shaking her head. “There was no shell.”

“What?”

“I lied,” Serenity said archly, “It was a convenient excuse.” She sauntered on, hips swaying. Endymion watched her head back towards the blanket, a very confused look on his face.

Just who had seduced who, here?
