#75 The Soul’s Shelter
Words: 344
"Let’s go under that canopy!" Mamoru shouted over the pelting rain, grabbing her hand and quickly seeking the shelter
"I hate the rain..." a crack lightening thunder was heard across the sky, "AND ESPECIALLY THE THUNDER!" she squealed and quickly searched for shelter by tucking her arms around Mamoru's waste inside his jacket.
Mamoru smiled and wrapped is arms around her.
Just when he thought they were safe the weight of the water the canopy was holding made the fabric buckle. In a quick splash the falling water nearly missed the couple and the protection they had found.
"Oh, that was lucky Mamo-chan!" Usagi said wide eyed.
"Yes." he agreed, now being the one providing the protection.
Savoring being held by his warm arms, Usagi stayed there content, not realizing her boyfriend was the provider of her shelter.
He staired at her seeing her happy. He was completley drenched and she was dry, or as much as she could possible be, from his protection.
"Mamo-chan you're getting soked!" Usagi yelped, realizing that even thought she was warm and just a little damp; the rain totally soaked Mamory and was still pelting him, providing her protection.
"It's the least I can do," he replied, thankfully, " for all the love you have given me that has and, as long as I am with you, will keep my soul from becoming dark and lonely."
"What!?" Usagi shouted, the rain was getting worse and muted Mamoru's words.
"Nothing Usako, lets go to my apartment and dry off, how about me wipping you u a cup of hot chocolate?" she yelled over the rain and thunder.
With the mention of sweets her eyes grew beight and a grin crept across her face.
"Race you there!" she exclaimed with a quick kiss to his lips she ran off.
"I thought you were scared of the rain?" Mamoru said jokingly, never heard by her, but still not necessarily meant for her ears. He laughed to himself, admiringly, and ran after the ball of sunshine.
