We just finished the behemoth novel Middlemarch by George Eliot and people in my class today had some amazing responses to this book. Here is a few of them:
- Idiot #1: "This book changed me psychologically". I dunno what the hell this means. Maybe he thinks he is a duck now or something. I dunno.
- Idiot #2: "I didn't even know what literature was until I read this book. See, it's art in written form. AND I'M AN ENGLISH MAJOR!". Ever seen a dictionary? I'm sure literature is defined there for you. You could and should have done this a long time ago if it is actually taking you this long to figure this out. More impressive than you being an english major and not realizing what literature means, you are a moron and probably do not realize that either.
- Idiot #3: "This is the type of book I would want to have with me if I was locked in a room for a month." This is my favorite one. If someone is wanting to lock me in a room for a month, I think what I am going to be reading is the least of my concerns. Like, why are you locking me in a room for a month?
If Middlemarch was made out of food I think I would be more excited about having it with me in this forced imprisonment. Who the hell thinks something like this? I'm just amazed. This guy should talk to the "psychologically changed" guy; maybe he can help him with his freaking paranoia.
And all you heard from me was the sound of my eyes continuously rolling. Wait, that doesn't make a sound. Well, i did it anyways because these people suck.
