Walk like an Egyptian...
Yay, I'm off again!
My bags are packed, and I'm ready to go... tomorrow evening, I'm hopping on a plane and jetting off for a three week vacation in Egypt. ^_^
It's the first leg of my parents' four month trip around the Mediterranean/Europe; they're going from Egypt on to Italy, Spain and the south of France. Unfortunately, even though I don't have any series to work on at the moment, I have to keep my schedule at least *somewhat* free, so I'm only going as far as Egypt with them. Oh darn, only Egypt, what a disappointment, eh? >.>
I'm so, so psyched about this trip. Ever since I was a kid, I was obsessed with Ancient Egypt. It's always been a dream of mine to be able to go to all the places I read about - Alexandria, the pyramids, Valley of the Kings, Karnak - and see them in person. And now not only am I going to get to do it, I'm gonna be doing it in style. ^_^ We're going on a four day cruise up the Nile as well as a 3 day cruise around the area of Abu Simbel. Couple that with 3 days in Luxor to start the trip, and 4 days in a hotel near the pyramids at the end, and it should be an amazing experience from beginning to end. =D
I'm hoping that I'll have time to write up my experiences while I'm over there... it seems my LJ is only interesting when I'm gabbing off about foreign countries (see: my two years in Japan ;D). Having said that, we only have one laptop between the three of us, so it might have to wait until I get back before I can write. :P
