Haha, you saw it too, eh? I'm really glad that you were able to fangirl squee about it; I can definitely see that there was a lot to like in the movie. And I totally agree with the whole "OMG WTF HE JUST STABBED WILL OMG OMG" thing. I didn't see it coming either! I was just like, "what the hell, movie, you're killing EVERYONE!" But at the same time, I was really taken aback and even pleased to see Disney taking such UNDisney risks, as you said. And there definitely were things in it that I TOTALLY fangirled... Barbossa and Norrington mostly. ^_^

I don't think I'll go back to see it in theatres again, but I will be getting the DVD. Once it comes out, you'll have to come over to my place so we can watch it together like Dead Man's Chest. ;-)

As for Tia... I understood about 75% of what she was saying. She did seem to be a bit clearer, but that might have been because she was sadder and therefore talked more slowly. And I didn't understand the bit where she got big either. All I heard was WAH WAH WAH WAAHHH RAAAAAH which made me think she'd turned into a giant version of Charlie Brown's teacher. Which, when I think about it, is totally hilarious. XD I thought of the crab thing later. XD Of course, then you think about poor Davey Jones, who got thrown into the dark watery hole of Tia Dalma... *cough* between that and Jack/Barbossa phallic telescope battles, there was enough Freudian imagery to keep me giggling for ages XD

I did. I saw it last night after work. :D Yeah really... I think everyone in the theatre jaw's dropped open when the whole stabbing thing happened. I mean... Davy Jones just stared at Jack and then *stab, twist, smirk* about it. I was shocked! I mean... how could you not be? Will was a main character... though, I was all '@_@' when it was Will's dad that cut out his heart.

Yeah, I'm buying the DVD for certain! You and I are so going to have to do a POTC trilogy night when the third one comes to DVD! We can watch them tie up various plot threads over the course of three movies and go WTF at a lot of them. >.>

She seemed easier, though when she got angry, she did tend to speed up again. I knew you would think of the crabs too. I was like "OMG, she's got crabs!" and Grant had to elbow me to keep my from yelling. XD The Jack/Barbossa rivalry was so awesome! I loved every moment of it!

That was the second part of the movie that I actually cried out aloud about and made soft whimpering noises. The other was Norrington's death, though admittedly that was nowhere near as unexpected. I agree, it's so totally unusual for Disney to kill off a main character. Especially after that reconciliation with Will and Elizabeth earlier. Props to Disney for being so damn gutsy, even though the result was not entirely what I had hoped for in terms of happy endings. And yes, that totally creeped me out too when it was Will's father that cut out his heart. Something that occured to me just now, though... what I was saying in the post about Jack's reaction to Will's death? It has even more resonance when you think that Jack gave up immortality by having Will stab the heart, just so that Will could live. OK, so I admit, that could be pretty slashy, but I still hold to Will/Elizabeth, damnit, or at least Will/Elizabeth/Jack! XD

YESH. We must have a trilogy night. Fire up my big flatscreen TV, pop some popcorn, and have a marathon. ^_^ Heck, if we want to go the whole hog, what we could do is rent a HD DVD or Bluray player and get the really high definition versions, which apparently look absolutely awesome.

There were still a few lines that I didn't catch, but they weren't all from her. Sometimes they were just lines that were muttered, or slurred, or whatever. At least I felt like I didn't miss any of the actual plot this time. XD Oh god, the rivalry was awesome. I love Barbossa so very dearly. XD I actually agree with some of the people who are hoping that the series continues, but that it only focuses on Jack and Barbossa. Which would be totally awesome. XD

I agree! I still can't get over how shocking it was! *squees* I think it was the fact that Elizabeth and Will got back together, were happy during the fight and then Will's death happened that really set the scene. They went the entire movie with their relationship falling apart and then they finally get back together and Will has to go and fall on Davy Jones' sword and twist himself around it. XD That's very true... I think that was the first time Jack ever really showed that kind of emotion, and Elizabeth's comment in movie 2 of "Someday, you will be a good man and make the right decision" comes back to me. :D

You have a flatscreen TV? *jealous* You know, I haven't seen Bluray, but everyone is starting to rant about it. I think I'll be happy with stroking a DVD package while watching though!

LOL, she tended to be clear with plot points, fortunately. XD Well, I was thinking if they wanted to beat a dead horse, they would go for another movie. I'm up in the air on how I would feel about that, really. Will IS my favourite character, afterall.

I'm with you on all that, though as I mentioned in the rant, I wish a little more time had been spent on getting Will and Elizabeth back together; there was definite damage done to their relationship, I sort of wanted to see that damage repaired before them getting back together. Although I totally squeed all through that wedding scene. I totally want Barbossa to officiate my wedding. "YOU MAY NOW KISS THE *BBAAAAM* ... just kiss!" And oh god, Jones twisting the sword into Will just made that scene THAT much more painful and shocking. Maybe it was because I was like, "OMG THEY STABBED HIM! ... no, no, it'll be fine, he'll be able to survive that kind of a OH MY GOD HE'S TWISTING IT IN!!" And yay for Jack finally doing the right thing (took him a whole trilogy XD).

I do indeed! It's a 42" flatscreen HD TV. Mom was able to get it for 300 dollars (the story was, we were buying a whole bunch of furniture from the Brick for this apartment. They had a special on that if you bought a full sofa set of 3 pieces, you'd get a TV; we only got two pieces and some mattresses, but mom bargained them into throwing in the TV for 300 bucks XD). I know that BluRay must look pretty nifty, as that's what the PS3 uses (and sucky games aside, they look incredibly sharp). But DVDs still look pretty darn fantastic. Almost too fantastic; my LotR DVDs are so detailed and crisp, you can tell what's CG and bluescreen now. ;_;

I agree that another movie would be beating a dead horse in some ways... in others, however, they could theoretically have a return to the original movie, the sort of lighthearted pirate fun that people sort of missed in the last two. Will is one of my favourite characters too - though he fell a few points thanks to his behaviour in this movie - but to be honest, I'm not sure how he could be in future movies, at least as more than a cameo appearance. Think of it this way; we know for a fact that both he and Elizabeth are going to be safe and right as rain in ten years, thanks to the post-credits bit. That means that any time they'd be "in danger" in the next movie, we'd know they'd get out safe. It's a bit like if they did the Hobbit... we know how it ends. ;-)
