Movie rant
I'm trying not to spoil anything about the movie 30 Days of Night but if you actually want to see it, don't read the LJ cut. I'm going to try to do an LJ cut but I don't know if it'll work. I just need to rant about this movie though!
Last night we screened 30 Days of Night. Holy crap I don't think I've been this annoyed with a movie all year. I mean, if you like seeing movies that scare you and facial disfigurement does that to you, then by all means, watch it -- all of the "lesser" vampires are kind of creepy because of the make-up job. However, the head vampire doesn't look like the others so he's not actually that scary looking o_O Also, the main reason I saw this movie was because of Ben Foster -- who I adore -- and he's barely in the movie! He pops up now and again and that's it! It totally pissed me off! And then they never give any definite reason as to why the vampires are doing what they are doing: I mean, just because they're vampires isn't a very good reason to kill a town. Last part I had a problem with was the sound the vampires made -- they sounded like screeching raptors from the Jurassic Park movies. It made no sense! Okay... I think I'm good. I'm trying to LJ cut on this thing but, if it doesn't work, I want to not spoil the entire movie, just in case they are people who want to see it.
I need to get to class. One last reason why I'm pissed at the movie: it made me lose sleep because I found the vampires really scary looking :(
