Dragons and Princes and Ridiculously Expensive But Cool Stuff, Oh My!

Feb 21, 2011 22:36

… Seriously, I think there are things you can buy at your average con that are cheaper than the fare at RenFaire. I mean, when 45 bucks only gets you a day’s ticket, a meal plus drink, with 18 dollars left (and most good merchandise is priced from $20 and above)…. Yeah.

But it’s awesome anyway. ;P Doesn’t matter what you buy but whether or not you had a good time, I say. And I’m pretty sure I can say I did. Other than a slight mishap in the morning, I think this was (one of) my best years at the Renaissance Festival yet. For once my feet are not killing me despite the hours of walking (those insoles I bought for TaiyouCon worked wonders yet again. I pray that I never lose them or wear them out beyond future use - or that if the latter happens that I can get a new pair easily and relatively cheaply), and while I still haven’t gathered up the money or the courage to buy a bigger, more functional dragon puppet aside from the one I bought my first year (which I have disparingly found is now missing. D8 Daisuke, where’d you go~?), like I said, it’s the fun times that are important, not the spoils. Besides, there’s always next year - oh wait, I’ll either be in Utah or still in state but too far away to make a one-day trip home next year at this time. Blarg.

….. …. I do still feel kinda guilty for ditching Geology this afternoon so I could stay the whole day though. Ah well, at least I have a friend willing to lend me her notes (not to mention the prof. uses one of those fill-in-the-blank handout styles for her notes, too; so I’d be guaranteed to get what the prof. deemed important, rather than just what my friend deemed important).

Oh, and I found the other part to my Finland one coin today after I got home! :D So Tino’s all in one piece now. Yays~

And off to schoolwork I go until I feel the need to go to bed. Until next time~

EDIT: ... okay, why do I have TWO "rambling"-related tags? There's "Rambling" and "Ramble." Hmmm...

rambling, rennaisance, ramble, general geekery, life
