Life is like play-doh

First off, thank you to all of you who wrote to me over snail mail as well as over the internet.

I love it here. Some of you are probably curious about life here, so I'll tell ya a lil bit.

First thing to know about West Point is that everything moves at the speed of sound. We walk fast, talk fast, eat fast, and work fast.

Secondly, this place is the epitome of making the best of life, like people here will BITCH AND MOAN ABOUT EVERYTHING. But seriously, one thing Ive learned is that happiness is a decision, you have to wake up every morning and decide to have a good day. There were days that we'd wake up at 0330 and start a ruck march, but the thing is that you just have to keep moving forward, stopping is not an option. As long as you keep forward progression then nothing can stop you. Nothing can get in your way. If you decide to live your life to the maximum, then damnit do it.

Thirdly, the reason West Point is so honored is because we have all made the decisio to live our lives to a higher standard. We've decided to live to fight or die to defend. I could've easily gone to the University of Miami and partied it up, but instead I'm here learning to be a leader of men and a guardian of freedom. That is something that every member of the long gray line has that you can never take away from The Corps. I have SOOO much respect for the graduates that have come before us and I can't wait to be counted among the few of those great men and women of The Corps. past and present.

So, thats my SCHPILL...

Hello ladies and gentlemen. Im an official of United States Corps of Cadets.
