as you can tell, went on an xmas carol downloading spree, and somehow the vienna boys' choir seems to have sung every carol in existance (the mormon tabernacle choir rivaled them...but were not as great).
forgot to talk about my voice lesson with my new teacher last saturday.
it was EXCELLENT.
so much better than my last teacher.
as in...linda (i believe that's what im supposed to call her) actually works on TECHNIQUE. whereas mrs. schach makes you sing, and if she's not happy with it she just mentions for you to sing "here" ::gestures to sinus area::. and linda believes in singing what you like, which means beaucoup de showtunes et tori, et un peu de classical. and she works on all of the voice range, not just the upper range like mrs. schach.
mom made my next lesson two fridays from now, and then i won't have another lesson until january when all the holiday bustle is over. that seems pretty.....stupid to me. but i have no say. whatevs.
thursday i gave my speech! which i was worried about, but not too nervous when i went up to give it. and it went fine; i even got to plug in my xmas lights. they were pretty. i wish i could put xmas lights on my house. i meant it in my speech when i said i really liked them.
anyway, i got some compliments on it. i can remember the ones from anthony and jayne. anthony's was really nice, so that made me happy. yeah. lol.
after school, had jazz choir for the first time in 2 weeks. fun! i ADORE singing the carols. sooooooo pretty. i love harmonies. what child is this is my fave (i like the version we sing for regular chorus even better). and i also like carol of the bells, oh holy night, angels we have heard on high, joy to the world, and the first noel. i even like "bring a torch, jeanette, isabella." lol.
friday i was amused because EVERYONE was sleeping through mr. moran's video on the history of music. i felt bad because absolutely no one paid attention. it's weird that he doesn't care if you pay attention or not.
guess who got a 98% on her speech?? moi. would've had 100 if i talked slower, that was my only problem. actually, some of the people said on their gradesheets (everyone got to "grade" everyone else's speeches) that i looked at my notecards. i think i was pretty good with them, but i could have looked a little less. luckily, ms. frazier didn't seem to care. :D
french was ACTUALLY the time of my life. lol. omg i love my french class family like you can't believe. and mlle ROCKS. it was SO fun. okay, so awhile ago mlle had played us a song by a friend of hers who's a french teacher in canada. it was to help you learn avoir, and it was hilarious because it was all techno and raplike. amazing. "j'ai a i tu as a s, il a, elle a. nous avons, vous avez, ils elles o-n-t!!" GREAT. and then the other day french one got to listen to another one of his songs (his name is étienne) so we made her promise to let us listen to it. and then we just got carried away and started listening to all of his other songs and they are hilarious. shoutout to mike & beckie all over the place.

it was so amazing. esp cause jesse and all his cronies refused to enjoy themselves because it would be geeky and jesse is just so cool in the first place (??). meanwhile, in this one corner of the room, matt and mike and beckie and i are GETTING DOWN. i was just so happy. there's nothing like letting yourself go to the techno grooves of étienne. if it's possible to buy one of his CDs, i am SO getting it. and making copies for my french posse.
