Sometimes you need a break from all the everyday difficulties of life and you want to take a day for yourself. That's what I did today. Before gas prices get even more out of control, I decided to do my first sign search in 2 1/2 years. There were a few routes in Ulster County I had not comepletely covered and I was thinking there was 4 possible outlines I could find.

I was glad to see that I was able to find all 4 outlines I had on my list. That leaves 2 more routes to cover. I always like to find these letter signs. Only 2 such routes had these in Orange County, but Ulster had 4 of them .

These green guide are here and there in Ulster, but none as worn as this one for NY Route 28.

Nice little suspension bridge along NY 28 near Phonecia.

Ulster County Route 42 runs through the Catskills in the NW part of the county. Many roads were still showing evidence of the damage sustained in the hurricane and tropical storm of last year. This road was kind of white knuckle in spots. one area was about a lane and a half wide next to a small lake with no guardrail. Definitely not recommended for night travel. Funny, as I came to the end of the lake there was a sign that said NO GUARDRAIL. LOL.

I was surprised to find snow still on the ground alond UC 42, even a pretty good pile along the side of the road.

Where are we here, Cincinnati where US 42 and 52 meet? Nope, this goof is in Woodbourne, NY. Sign goofs are cool.

All in all, a good day!
