OACs Suck Ass.

Alright.. a seperate post for OACs. I graduated high school last year, and I should be finished with high school, like all of the other people across the country. However, I decided to take OACs to keep my options open. In Ontario, if you want to go to a university, you have to have at least six OAC credits. (College doesn't require OAC credits to ( Read more... )

I say screw the OAC's if you don't plan on going into University right away. Just make sure it's what you really want so you don't change your mind down the road and wish you would have taken the classes earlier. "stupid Allie! why did I listen to her?" :P

XO ... gotta go... X3 ... XD ahhhh, much better... :P

Well, I don't plan on going to university, mainly because college is the place to be when it comes to web designing. I don't have any remorse about dropping OACs, other than the fact I won't see most of my friends on a daily basis. I see all of my friends at least twice a week already, so wether or not I'm at school really doesn't matter when it comes to seeing them. There will always be Friday at Tony's, the anime club and the telephone.

Aside from that, if I ever do decide to go to university in the future, I'll have college courses to back me up. I'm sure that you only need six OAC credits to get into university if you're just graduating high school. I think that college courses seriously outweigh some advanced high school ones. :p So.. either way, I have no loss. Don't plan on going to university and if I changed my mind, I'll have college to back me up. Whee!

I love it when you talk constipation to me. ;p

Somehow, I'm forced to agree with you. I took an extra year to try and get my OAC's. I found it wasn't worth trouble. By the end of the first week, I had dropped one of the courses, decided I didn't NEED the OAC credits to go to college, and treated the last year like a good time to see my friends for that last little bit.

Basically, this is the advice I have to offer you. Take It Easy. Don't let yourself stress out over anything because that can only hurt you in the end. Drop them all if thats what you want to do, or, if you want to be with your friends for that extra bit, drop the courses you don't think interest you. If your interested in history, take the history OAC. If your interested in math, take the Math OAC's. Its what I did, I got into the course I wanted to get into. (Which leads me to think that colleges don't even LOOK at OAC credits :) ))

I think I'm going to drop them all. The only classes I had taken were Cisco, Writers Craft, History and Law. I'm going to drop Cisco because it's going to be taught by a teacher I don't like and they might have cancelled Writers Craft. They called down Lee and some other people to tell them it was cancelled, but I wasn't called down at all. o_O Neither was Tony, but he had a spare first period... So either I was sick or they didn't cancel one class or something. :p And seriously.. history and law are going to be boring anyhow.

And no, colleges don't look at OACs. That's why OACs are optional. ^_^ You only need to take them if you plan on going to university. As I said before, if I planned on going to university later on in the years, I'd have college courses to back me up instead of OACs. :9

Thanks for your advice. ^o^
