I'll be honest - I haven't been to One Million in a very long time.

Part of the problem is that they never had what I wanted in stock. Usually it was manga releases that screwed me over. They claimed that they had gotten the titles in, that the titles had sold out and then offered to order them in for me. Except that I'd come in asking about the order and they would claim that it never came in. This happened over and over again. Eventually I just got so frustrated that I took my business elsewhere.

Usually I've been doing my manga shopping at Hairy T down the street and waiting to take advantage of their sales if I'm not happy with the sticker price. I know there's a lot of mixed feelings about Hairy T, but it's extremely popular with my current group of friends, the staff always make me feel welcome and the staff knows what they're selling. Plus I like browsing at their gaming stock, since they have one of the best selections in the city.

I haven't been to Anime Xtreme in forever either. I THINK they did US cover price last time I was there. I need to swing by sometime soon.

Yeah, I couldn't remember if you mentioned they were reducing the amount of manga they had but I was pretty sure that if you had mentioned they got rid of ALL of it, I would have remembered that. XD;; I hadn't been there since I left last year and even then, they were shut down for a few weeks while they renovated. It kind of sucks in there now, since it's mostly just t-shirts when you first walk in. :/ The back room is pretty much exactly the same though.

I had the same problem with ordering in comics. I ordered in figures and they always came in fast, but the comics? Good effing luck. I was told the issues I wanted could easily be ordered in but week after week, it'd be some stupid excuse like "they haven't come in" or "the new guy must have put them out on the rack". -_- I have a feeling it'll be just as bad with the manga, deposit or not. I'd rather just walk into Chapters and buy the books with my 10% iRewards card.

I don't think Anime Xtreme does the US cover price thing. I asked a girl at work who said they definitely didn't do it. :/ I think they do at conventions at least... I guess I'm going to be a little more manga-crazy at the cons until the cover prices come down a lot.

The Hairy T you took me to that one time was nice. :3 The one at Dundas West was awful from my experiences. Well, awful for customer service. I'd go back. I think I had gone once before and wasn't really impressed but I think they had been renovating or going through old stock or something. At least they were super friendly there. :D
