It really, really rejuvinates me to go outside when it's a bright, clear, sunny morning with birds singing... even on crappy Mondays, it makes me feel pretty good to walk out of the building into something as pretty as that. I think I've really started to get in tune with nature... it's surprising how good the sun can make a person feel ( Read more... )

Well, the capsule toy store is freaking awesome!! There's about twenty machines, at least, featuring series like One Piece, Naruto, Honey and Clover, Evangelion, Fullmetal Alchemist, etc. and they also had other ones like Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll. ^^ All the bigger capsules were $4 (2 $2 coins) but the smaller ones were just $2 (1 $2 coin) each. The people there also exchange your money for $2 coins too, so you don't have to worry about going out of your way to make sure you have some when you go there. ^_^ They also had a lot of other little boxes and packs you could get. <3<3<3

You can read the whole post up there... there were one or two instances where we really experienced some racism first hand but most of the people there are really nice. We only had a little over an hour to spend looking around and the place is absolutely gigantic, so we definitely didn't get to really see everything but I can tell the place is a gold mine for dorks like us. XD lol.

If you do want to go, I'll be sure to go with you because it's a really long commute to the mall from the con (or anywhere else, for that matter). ^^

Hahah! I definitely need to check out that capsule toy store! XD There's Honey and Clover ones too? @w@ Me wants! Well...I'd only want Morita and Hagu. rofl.

Yeah...I really wouldn't expect there not to be some sort of racism in those kinds of places. -_-; Picky lot indeed.

How long of a commute do you think it'd be from the con to the mall? But definitely...I'd like to take some time out to check it out while I'm there. ^-^ Yay~ teh Tasuki can be my guide! XDD Man, I'd get lost in a second. >_>;;; Honestly, I'm not really sure what's gonna be interesting at all at the con in the first place. Other than the dealer's room and looking at cosplayers....I'm not particularly interested in most of the panels and stuff. o.O; But omg...I gotta get in shape before the con tho. lmao. XD;; My feet already start aching after an hour long walk...but maybe that's cause of my winter boots. o.O;; rofl.

Yeah, it's really sad how their minds work. It's one thing to want to preserve your culture in a new land but it's another to completely shun someone because they have nothing to do with it. I mean, we're not in China for cripe sake, we're in Canada! Even if it is a mostly Chinese-dominated area, they should still expect that non-Chinese people are going to be there. ¬_¬ Apparently, the funny thing is that before it turned into a mall, the place used to be called "Colour Country" and sold country-style hand-made crafts (kinda like Vanderwee's). o_O;; XDDDD;;

It's hard to say how long the drive will be... it's about 35 minutes from Finch station to the mall on the express bus. I think the fastest way to get there from the airport would be to take the airport shuttle to Kipling station, take the subway from Kipling to Bloor-Yonge and then from there to Finch. It might take at most two hours... the mall is really far out there. @_@;; The subway is fast, but there's still a long distance to travel.. I'll do the math when I have more time and let you know better. :X
