We have another thing in common now. Main fandom: Arashi. The first Japanese guy I loved was Nishikido Ryo back in 2008. But the first JE group I followed was Kis-My-Ft2 (only last year). 'Cause my ex-roommate (who's a very big Nino/Arashi fan) persuaded me to go back to being a Jpop fan then. //Note:I tried to avoid when she convinced me to be an Arashi fan last year.
This year (when I was feeling down and alone), I tried Arashi's music, variety, dramas, etc. At first, I was surprised.. I can't help it, but my love for them is growing bigger each day. But like what you said, I too, feel safer with them. Now, my friend and I have more fangirl-talks! ♥ And I think I'll never get tired of following Arashi.
I'm sure Chinen will be happy to know you've found happiness in Ohno('s group) ♥

but in the end, you've become an Arashi fan too right? ;D in my case, my first japanese guy is Yamada Ryosuke at the end of 2007 because of TGQ. at that time i didn't care about his groups (HS7 temporary group and then HSJ). i came to finally like his group at mid 2009, along with Arashi. it has stood for 3 years, before i turned around and changed my main fandom with Arashi. so practically, i'm a newbie in Arashi fandom :3
THIS. this also happened to me. their works (music, dramas, varieties, everything) were accompanying me whenever i felt down. my love for them grew dramatically. it's just that indescribable, ne? the feeling of being safe....

Then I liked Hikaru in Ikemen Desu Ne :D Then I knew about HSJ. //I'm so LOL-ing at myself now, thinking how I'm so late when it comes to Jpop (or JE for that matter).
Yes, the way Arashi affects us.. just indescribable, but we as their fans understand without having to describe that feeling ♥
LOL yeah. A few days ago I saw on YT, a clip where Chinen's so young, singing A·RA·SHI (chorus, i think) in a concert. How sweet~
