Chapter 5
It broke his heart to leave but it had to be. Kenji was having a flu and lying in bed. And besides he still owed him one because Kenji had done the same for him a few weeks ago. Besides that he knew Kenji since Junior high and ever since they were good friends. So he had to go.
It took a while to get to the bar his friend worked in but anyway he had at least two hours to get there. So first, he decided to get home, take a shower and change clothes. To reach the bar in time he simply took his motorbike. After all it had been only one or two glasses of wine he drank and it needed more to affect Takato. So after he arrived and did all he had to do he was off.
He arrived just in time and searched for the boss. He explained the situation and started right away. There were many guests since it was Friday night. Luckily Takato already worked as a waiter so it wasn’t that big of a deal to get along. Yet he still was tired and missed Taishi. He felt guilty for just leaving after having sex with no word of comfort or good-bye. But it is what it is and now he is here, in a bar on a the other side of the city, and not with Taishi who sleeps soundly in his bed like an angel.
“Taka-chan? Is that you?”, someone called him. He turned around to see who it was. He knew this voice. It was Chieko. She was an old friend who was older than him by five years. He knew her since the time he started to work as a bartender. “Oh, Chieko! Hi!” She walked over to the bar and wanted to sit down. Without questioning he served her what she always ordered and listened to what she said. At least he tried. His thoughts came back to the same subject over and over again. He remembered Taishi’s sleeping expression, the scent of his hair, the shining green of his eyes. He couldn’t help but to grin like an idiot and chuckle when rembering him when he blushed and moaned.
“Oi! Taka-chan, are you even listening?! You are sending some strange vibes there…” He looked at her and was confused: “Huh?” - “Smiling and chuckling and squirming around. Wait, don’t tell me you’re…” He started to feel scared of the old lady in front of him. “Can it be that my precious Taka-chan has finally found himself a girlfriend?” She screamed so loud some people even turned around. Takato shrug together. ‘A girlfriend? Well, you could say that’ and the chuckling went on. “How did you get that idea?” Chieko reached over to her Martini: “My dear, love is written all over your face!” He blushed. “It was about time you finally take a liking in someone! So who is able to turn my cute Taka-chan into a lovebee? Tell me everything about her! Come on!” Takato scratched his head and started stumbling. “Don’t make such a fuss!” She started pinching his cheek until it turned red. “Ouch! What are yo…stop! I’ll tell you! Now let go, will ‘ya?” She released him and listened observingly. “We met in a bar about a month ago and somehow got together. I am totally head over heals but it doesn’t seem to be mutual. So you couldn’t say it’s a relationship.” - “Oh, poor Taka-chan! What a waste. You can always come to me!” She smiled and drank her Martini. Takato served her another one because she always ordered at least three. “You’re married, Chieko.” She raised her eyebrows and sighed: “Oh yeah, right. Anyways, don’t ever give up! You’ll win her heart because you’re a very gentle and nice person. She won’t have any other chance than to fall for you, ne? Let’s drink!” Takato sighed: “I am at work, Chieko!” - “Oh please! One is allright. If it’s for your old Chieko-chan, ne? And I won’t tell anybody, ne? Ne? Here you go” She shoved the Martini she ordered into Takato’s direction and made a toast: “To love and that Taka-chan finally get’s some H” Takato shook his head toasted anyway, though. The night was long and he was relieved when he fell into his bed.
Takato got nervous when he didn’t reseave any calls from Taishi. He thought he made him mad with not staying over night. ‘Maybe I wrote something that made him angry? Or the notice as such was annoying? Why am I such an idiot?! I destroyed everything…What if I call him instead? I mean, it’s normal when we’re seeing each other so…I should just call him, right? That’s what I am going to do. I will call him! Right now!…I am calling him now!…Riiight ….now. Now I am picking up the phone! Dialing…And it’s ringing…No it’s not. Damn, but now I am calling! Right! Here and now! I am calling him, Taishi. I am calling Masaru! Now!’ He stood in his kitchen and held the mobile in his hands, staring at it and mumbling to himself when his doorbell rang. He trotted to the door thinking he was a coward (which was the truth) and opened it. It was his job: the pesky pets. He got used to them by now and even tought them to behave at least a bit so that he didn’t get insane. The Berhandine was fully recovered by now and the other dogs felt just like at home beeing around Takato. But Ta-chan still was very shy and anxious. That didn’t bother Takato. He liked him the most because he was very calm and started to open up to him. He even sometimes let Takato stroke him. These were only few times, though. The problem was that his behaviour didn’t change to well. Not only towards Takato but to his owners. The girl who always brought the dogs to his flat told him that they are planning to bring him back to the animal sanctuary. It was sad. First beeing hurt and thrown away then picked up and thrown away again. Takato got so used to having them around that he even missed them sometimes during the week.
It had been a week since he heared Taishi’s voice and he missed it. His self-confidence decreased with each day. Even his uncle noticed that his nephew’s posture was miserable. And he didn’t give proper answers when he wanted to know what was wrong. He just kept on sighing and walking around like a ghost.
Then on Sunday he finally called him. He just wanted to hear his voice.
“Hello.”, he answered the call.
“Uh, hi. It’s me, Takato.” replied Takato.
“Yeah, I recognized the voice. How are you doing?”, he seemed to not be that interested, though.
“Good. And you? How’s school?” he was interested.
“Stressful.” ‘That explains why he didn’t call’, thought Takato to relieve himself.
“So, why are you calling?”, asked Taishi without visible human feeling.
“Uhm, yeah. That’s…I wanted to ask you if we could meet somewhere?”, he was getting very nervous.
“How inconvenient. This week was very stressing and next week won’t be any different. So, I’ll be very tired…” -
“Then, could we meet after school perhaps. To get something to drink or to a restaurant?”, Takato simply wanted to see Taishi.
“…”, through the phone Takato could hear Taishi beeing amazed. “That’s okay, I think…”
“Really? That’s great! Can I pick you up tomorrow after school?”, he asked beeing stupidly happy about seeing Taishi again.
“Okay…meet me at 15:00 in front of the uni.”, he then answered.
“I’ll be there! Sleep well! Bye!”
“You to! Night…*click*”
Takato was extremely happy. Happy about seeing him, happy about going out with him and happy about the conversation on the phone just now. ‘Did he just wish me a good night? Oh my gosh, he really did? He is so nice! Taishi-san is so nice! Kya!’ Ignoring the fact that all Taishi did was beeing polite he jumped around and was very worked up about it. That night it was hard for him to fall asleep.
The weather was miserable on Monday. It was cloudy and the wind blew cold. Taishi was fully concentrated on the philosophy lessons. This subject was always very interesting for him because it was the subject he chose. The others were chosen by his father. Either that or he had to study medicine to become a doctor just like his father. When lessons ended he sighed in relievement nevertheless. He kept looking out the window the whole day not knowing what he searched for. When he exited the university Takato was nowhere to be seen. Thinking about that he maybe had been forgotten made him a little down. He looked forward to it. All the stress with his researches and learning material exhausted him and he needed a break. And meeting with Takato just seemed right for this. When he wanted to get on his way home he heared someone calling his name. It was a confused Takato who leaned at his motorbike. “Taishi-san! Over here!” When Taishi turned to face him he was happy that he didn’t mistake in hearing Takato’s voice. He was happy to see him. But after that he was surprised. Takato looked different. He wore a leather jacket and held his helmet under his left arm. His hair was a bit messy but it suited him. Taishi noticed that it shined reddishly in the mere sun that leaked through some clouds. He walked towards Takato and greeted him. When he got nearer to him he saw that Takato smoked a cigarette. “You smoke?” Takato smiled: “Yeah. It took you a while.” Taishi’s mood got darker: “It is disgusting. You should stop.” Taishi was startled: “Uhm, well, where do you want to eat?” “You asked me out so you decide.” Takato laughed. Taishi was cute when he was irritated. He had thought so earlier, too. To be honest, he thougt all his expressions were cute.
He knew just the place where to go. So they didn’t waste any time and headed of to a Italian restaurant near Takato’s place. The ride was like a dream come true. Taishi sat behind him and with each turn in the road he would grip tighter for a few seconds. He got sad when they arrived at the restaurant but his mood lightened up at the thought of them both having a date (although it was a date only in Takato’s imagination)
He ordered spaghetti whereas Taishi ordered the calzone.
They enjoyed their meal and talked much. Taishi ordered a wine. “Was it okay for you to pick me up”, asked Taishi to keep their conversation going. “Huh? Uhm, yeah. No problem. I just work for my uncle and that only more out of sense of obligation. It’s not that I earn an amount of money with that. And it wasn’t that hard to convince him.” - “Why’s that?” Takato laughed a little: “Well, I’m not that big of a help anyway.” Taishi got a bit irritated: “One should never think like that! You said your uncle owns a car shop, right? Interesting.” Takato was sighing: “You think so? In fact, it’s not that big a deal. I moreover like the job as a waiter or when I help with the organization in the reservoir INN. It’s got more to do with people, you know? I know, a car shop also…” Taishi got hooked with what he heared: “You work in a car shop, in a bar and a hotel? That sounds like hard work” Takato was surprised over this unusual interest coming from Taishi: “Uhm, yes. It’s not a big a deal. They are low payment jobs and I have to keep over water somehow.” Taishi was impressed. “But why are you doing this? What about a real job?” Takato was coughing into his fist and took a sip of his soft drink. “That’s…I chose this. A life in boundaries isn’t for me. The way things are now, it’s prefect. I meet many people and everyday is different than the other. And as long as I can pay my bills all is well” He smiled at Taishi who because of that blushed for a reason. Takato for this split second seemed so mature it was as if he didn’t knew him at all. It made him curious about what was about Takato he didn’t know. So he kept talking to him but he didn’t talk much about himself. When they finished is was already bright outside again.
Takato offered to bring him home and he accepted. He didn’t know he would find a liking in driving a motorbike. The feeling of freedom while the wind caressed his body was relaxing and refreshing. He was glad that he was able to spend the afternoon with Atsushi. Talking to him and seeing him was relaxing in a way as well.
They were standing in front Taishi’s house. Takato was tense. He scratched his head and searched for fitting words. “Well, I’ll be leaving now.”, he said finally. “You wanna come in for a bit? I got time so…”, asked Taishi assuming he would accept the offer. But Takato needed to turn down his proposition: “No, I got to go. A job is waiting for me and if I don’t hurry I’ll miss it. But thanks” He smiled and even blushed a little. It was a pitty he couldn’t stay a moment longer but he had to go. Masaru was disappointed and didn’t know what to say to keep Atsushi from leaving: “Oh, then you should go. Thanks for the treat.” Takato noticed he was sulking and couldn’t help but lean forward to give him a gentle kiss on his lips. He brushed Masaru’s hair behind his left ear: “I enjoyed seeing you again, too. Bye!” He walked towards his motorbike and turned around to wave good-bye leaving Masaru behind in amazement. Taishi’s cheeks flushed. He didn’t expect a kiss in puplic: “I’ll call you”, he called after Takato. It made him smile as he put on his helmet. As Taishi watched him disappearing behind a corner he sighed. A couple who was just passing by saw the scene and stared at the blonde student who was getting annoyed by this attention: “What are you looking at?!”, he asked pissed waving them to go on. He turned and went inside his apartment. ‘What is it with me? Why am I so irritated? I’m an idiot for hoping he would stay over.’ He expected Takato to come inside to embrace him like he did a week earlier. Instead he just got a kiss. While remembering he blushed. He remembered not only the kiss but the night before and the kiss just refreshed the impression of it. He took of his jacket and went to the living room to put his bag on the table. He went to the fridge and grabbed a cold beer. He needed something to cool down. So he sat in front of the television and layed his feet on the couch. There wasn’t anything interesting running on the program but he tried to concentrate on it. In vain. His thoughts kept circling around Atsushi. He had thought that Takato would take him out for dinner yet as a pretense to have sex afterwards and so he agreed. But thinking about it now although it wasn’t what he was looking for he enjoyed it surprisingly much just eating and talking to Takato. ‘It’s obvious. He is nice guy after all. There couldn’t be more to it…’ he said to himself. His eyelids were getting heavy and he decided to rest a little on the sofa.
Later that evening he received a call. It was from Leena: “Ta-chan, something happened.” She was sobbing and drained. Taishi sighed. This wasn’t anything new to him. “Where are you? I’ll pick you up.”

Note: As you can see there's no sexual content this time. It was hard on me and it almost hurt to keep it G-rated but I managed to. I hope next will be a bit different but no-con chapters are cute and that's good enough, I guess.
Tell me what you think or, if there are any mistakes or any suggestions for the next chappy^^
