general update
isn't it a bit cold and early for swallows? i noticed last week, and again last night i saw swallows up under the overhang at murphy hall. i mean it is jan. for gods sake! i thought the earliest would be april or maybe march....perhaps the warm weather has them confused. aengus909 and i saw a new born calf when we were hiking last sat, and i saw another on the way home last night. the farmer's got his milo stubble field hot-wired and with cattle on it.
but the weather has been very jumpy around here. tues it sleeted, snowed, groppled and rained east of lawrence, but barely made the ground in larryville wet. i'm heading home and the ground went from brown to white at the wakarusa bridge on old 10 and there was a good half inch on the ground. b. said the sky didn't stop falling until about 3 pm or so. but then we are supposed to have temps in the 50s today. it needs to turn cold again and stay that way for another couple of weeks.
i have to say the joys of PMS are just wonderful.....100 mood-swings a minute! Yeeeee-HHAAaaawwww! tues. night i was starting to fall asleep on the love seat so went to bed early only to lay in bed awake for a couple of hours....then thebcman woke me up at 3:30 scratching his head...he must have been having some sort of weird dream because i told him to stop and he rolled over and started snoring. so i nudged him again and he rolled again and still snored! so i put a pillow over my head so i could sleep. he had no recollection of any of it. so my sleep is all jacked up (tho i did manage to sleep good last night), i'm tired now. not to mention that i'm cold all the time. yesterday i was so spacey, i tried twice to go across the hall to the fridge..D'oh!!! plus i left my empty water jug which i had sitting next to my bag as i was getting ready to leave....
we've been pretty good flybabies, since we crashed early tues (or tried) didn't get dishes done, but got them done last night. also got the dinning room table and buffet cleaned off and got some of my book plates put in books. watched some of the game with b. had a bit of a freak-out mon. night...as i was fixing dinner i saw a bunch of baby roaches!!! we haven't had roaches since we moved out of the student ghetto on kentucky st. years ago!! i think they must have hitched a ride in on something, not sure what tho. i killed them all, but b. forgot to get little traps to set out . gotta get those this weekend. at any rate, i haven't seen any more since then.
weekend plans are fri. cawfee and sunday candle making. off monday so will try to get some stuff done around the house.
