Today was a pretty good day. It got off to a rocky start because I had trouble getting to sleep last night, consequently I overslept and was almost late for my appointment to get fitted for new shoes. Being diabetic and having odd shaped feet means custom orthodics (that is shoes) are a necessity. After my appointment, which didn't take long, I swung by Tech to pick up a plaque for Cha. I had planned to go by my apartment afterwards to pick up some more stuff, but being in a hurry, I hadn't brought any boxes with me, and to be honest I just didn't feel like it. So instead I went back to Cha's apartment, where I made a trio of phone calls. The first was to talk to my counselor about resuming our sessions. I missed last week's session because my reminders were on my old phone which died, and with school out I forgot what day it was. Since each session has to be individually scheduled, that means I have to talk to my counselor to set up the next. The second phone call was to the finance company about Cha's car. She's really been stressing about it, so I called to see if an arrangement could be made to avoid default and repossession. I have a tentative agreement, and hopefully things will work out. The other third call was t try to get some money. The other, yet related thing Cha has been stressing about is money for her trip to Spain. She'll be there from the end of May til the beginning of June as part of Tech's "study abroad" program. She's really excited about going but at the same time is stressed because she hasn't been able to save any money for the trip. That call wasn't very successful.
After the phone calls I was free for the day. I spent some time working on my star system generator. I'd finally decided to generate the number of moons with each planet, but generating the moons themselves will be a separate page. 7 finished the macro-code and functions to generate the number of moons for each planet, but couldn't get the moon generating page done as I'd hoped. It took me a little bit to figure out how to set up a drop down menu, but can't get the "SWITCH" function to work right. After fiddling with it for a bit, a gave up. In the process I found a bunch of "RANDBETWEEN" functions that I still need to replace with macros. The problem is I'm looking at around 800 or so more lines of macro-code to generate. Admittedly most of it will be copy & pasted, but it's still another hour or so if work. I need to replace them because a "RANDBETWEEN" function will reset every time a cell is changed and since these functions generate planetary masses, that the masses (as well as diameters and some other features) of certain types of planets recalculate whenever a cell is changed.
After that I decided to play World of Warcraft [WoW] for the first time since the fall semester started. I don't have the money to reactivate my paid account which means my human paladin is unavailable, and all my other characters are stuck at level 20. So I made a new character, an orc warrior. I've always preferred Horde characters. I played him up to level 7 or 8, then took a break to watch Walker: Texas Ranger and eat dinner.
At some point before playing WoW I finally found the song from Guardians of the Galaxy volume 2, that I'd been looking for. Turns out it was The Chain by Fleetwood Mac.
After dinner I cleaned up, started a load of laundry, took a shower, and relaxed and read for a few hours. All in all not a bad day.
