Kevin pointed out last night that it's only a month and some change to Midwest Furfest. Apparently this flipped some weird inspiration switch in my head, because until about 2 AM, I was turning on the light every few minutes and scribbling thumbnail sketches.  This is MUCH BETTER than "Oh god, I have no idea what to paint, oh god" but harder on ( Read more... )

echidna penises?
I'm far more curious than I probably should be.

...we have an anatomy professor here who specialises in mammalian male genitalia (no kidding!), do I dare ask him? It's probably a better option than googling it.

I am now morbidly horrified yet may need to see you do this at one of Duncan's parties...

Then I may need to drown the mentally seared image in our host's good scotch...

I'm not sure what this says about me.

You feel a stupid need to justify mooching someone else's Good Scotch.

Oh...my.

I figured that echidnas would be weird, given that they're monotremes, but had no idea they were so, um, impressive.

The video is such poor quality that I'm not sure what I'm seeing, and yet I don't want to search the term "echidna penis" because I am not that brave.

Try "male echidna anatomy". http://news.softpedia.com/news/Why-Do-Echidnas-Have-Four-Headed-Penises-69334.shtml is a little discussion as to *why* they might be so endowed.

Echidnas freak me out a bit. They're like hedgehogs crossed with spiny urchins, and they just *confuse* me!

Actually I believe that the intended image was that the water oxen had paint brushes with them. Had to read it twice myself.

I didn't click the link, no time right now, but I read this and thought, "Wait, the fuck?"

I mean, interesting anatomy, sure. That's fine, that's casual conversation at Knitter's Breakfast, and I'm not joking. But sperm with cilia.

I mean, I thought I knew mammals.
