You guys remember all those times I've told you that no ideas are ever wasted?

If you listen to nothing else I say about anything, if you discard all my thoughts on life and death and love and sex and happiness and misery and every other damn thing I go on about at the drop of a hat, for the love of Ganesh, remember that.

I swear it's true.

Damned skippy that no ideas are ever wasted. Every time I see someone commenting here bewailing how they can never think up/dream anything so interesting as what you post, I just shake my head and grin--most people don't keep old ideas around, take them out, dust them off and look at them and push them into other stuff every so often. They pass up random ideas as pointless and too often hold tightly to one little precious idea, convinced that if they let go of it to catch the others that float by they'll lose their only good idea!

More good ideas come from working with what you have and then tossing it back in the old mental pot if it turns out not to work.
Not that everyone is going to be brilliant, of course, but creativity begets creativity and all that.

Man, how do you pass up random ideas? In my experience, they just sort of . . . sit around in the back of your consciousness, mingling with each other until you take them out to play for real, whether or not you stir them very much in the meanwhile. I didn't know it was possible to just discard them.

But then, maybe I daydream too much. :P

and sometimes they leap out at you with a club, and bludgeon until you pay attention to them, just to stop them taking over your thoughts every minute of the day. Then, once they've got you cowed into submission, they sit there, smirking.

I know I daydream too much! ;)

I was thinking in a noir-esque cyberpunk style, with a gleaming katana in one tentacle, black glasses. Going down stereotype avenue at a 120 kicks, ready to kick some corp butt.

Hell yes.

3. A woman carrying Victoria's Secret bags gets astonishingly good service in a game store. I can't imagine why.

Damn, I'll have to remember that the next time I need to do the rounds at the mall.

No idea ever wasted...

The one with the python, jar of honey, 2 midgets with jet packs and the pony... It could take a while.

Funny, a ten-year-old kid on the city bus, was telling me about Devil May Cry just yesterday.
