I needed a moment to make sure which one is Martha. The recycling bag says "Martha" to me. And the lady with three fingers and a pet lizard? Definitely a fantasy world.

I was thinking Martha was the reptiloid with the recycling bag ...

... until the image finished loading, and there was MARTHA, patron goddess of the perilously peeved, whom that poor little squirrelizard is attempting to placate.

(Beware the wrath of the sensibly shod!)

*takes a bow*
She is scary -- I would not want to get in the way of her wrath!

Hey, think we should start a Sisterhood of the Sensibly Shod?

Works for me! Though I have, in the past, worn things that were... less than sensible, though only for certain occasions.

I, too, have strayed -- and will again, if this ankle ever cooperates!

There was, long ago, a Dungeon Master named Glenn Blacow. He had many imaginative monsters, and one was Little Old Ladies In Tennis Shoes. I forgot what was so terrifying, likely a political joke gone off. But they could use many little old lady weapons (hat pin, umbrella, etc) to great advantage. After a while he also populated Little Old Ladies in Sensible Black Shoes. They were mostly harmless, and sensible, and if you killed one the insurance policy company would hunt you down.

I'm getting stuck on the term "patron goddess".

Somehow, Martha doesn't strike me as a saint.

I was more objecting to the "patron" part. :)

*grin* Well, I never said Martha had to like it!

ETA: No, wait, I have a better answer. "You think *you* object; you should hear Martha."
